    Disco 1 Trailing arm.

Anyone ever had a rear trailing arm snap? It happened to me a few weeks ago and was ‘interesting’ to say the least! Driving home having to use opposite lock, both ways, just to keep it on the road when going on or coming off the throttle! Just glad it was a cheap and easy fix.

    Key fob problem

Mine started doing that recently, for no apparent reason. It’s linked to leaving the car unlocked for more than a few minutes. It never used to do it, so I’ve onviously done something to change it.

    300tdi no fuel to injectors

Sounds like you’ve lost your ‘lift’! Your fuel system depends on a vaccum and, having sat for 9 months, the tiniest air leak will have lost the vacuum. Your mechanical lift pump isn’t strong enough to prime the system from tank to fip. You need to undo the pipe that comes from tank to lift...

Disco 1 Another key fob mystery.

I've got two fobs, neither of them is great. I had to solder one to make it work again. I've tried new batteries in both.

Disco 1 Another key fob mystery.

The key isn't on a long chain and is always close to the ignition switch. It always used to work fine, even when I left the car unlocked. I'll refer back to my hand book.

Disco 1 Another key fob mystery.

Ok, I've searched and searched and can't find any problems the same as the one I've got. If I leave my 300tdi unlocked for a few minutes, when I try to start it the engine is immobilised and it won't start. Key symbol lights up, etc. If I press either of the key fob buttons, it'll start. If I...

    Disco 1 Timing Belt

Get a dayco belt. What kit you get depends on what you need. You'll need a timing cover gasket and a tensioner. You may need a crank pulley, depending whether yours has had the new modified one fitted in the past....and an idler pulley of your old one is noisy.

    Disco 1 Glow plug relay

No, I make my own and I'm very meticulous.

    Disco 1 Glow plug relay

I've been running on bio diesel for over 4 years and put the occasional tank of regular diesel in when I run out, or if it gets really cold.

    Disco 1 Glow plug relay

During the recent cold snap, it was turning over a few times before starting and smoking a bit on starting up. After a few seconds, enough time for the cylinders to heat up I'd imagine, the smoke would clear and the engine would run smoother. I suspected glow plugs because it would previously...

    Disco 1 What's this plug?

    New switch in order.

    Heres a nice little trick!

I did mine for the first time a few weeks ago and it's a lot easier than you think. Saved a fortune.

    Disco 1 Glow plug relay

    It's a 1997 manual 300tdi.

The measurement was taken from the glow plug.

That was the glow plug relay, is that and the timer relay the same thing?

    Disco 1 What's this plug?

    Ok, thanks for the info.

    Disco 1 What's this plug?

Ok, thanks for that. I'll check it out tomorrow.

    Disco 1 What's this plug?

Ok, thanks, will do. If it's oil pressure switch, where is it located so I can connect it up again?
