    P38A LPG issue Resolved

That was my thought too but the lpg ecu doesn't have any ports or plugs other than the big one on the top. As sure I read somewhere that some systems are accessed via the obd port. I have emailed tinleytech.co.uk to see whats available.

    P38A LPG issue Resolved

Ah OK. My previous P38 was a diesel and the ecu was by the battery, that's why I didn't even think to look there. I have found the software online just need to get a cable for my laptop to plug in, I am assuming it's accessed via the obd port?

    P38A LPG issue Resolved

Well I have traced the cables and they disappeared into the main loom which seemed a bit odd. Anyway after some poking about I found the lpg ecu. It turns out it is a swap out for the original bosch ecu and it lives ironically in the ecu box behind the battery. Who would have thought that it was...

    P38A LPG issue Resolved

I did wonder about that plug too as it didn't look standard. I will have to trace the wire back, the wire from the dash indicator disappears off to the left so it would make sense that is in behind the glove box.

    P38A LPG issue Resolved

That sounds positive, I will just collect as much info as I can before taking it apart. I assume that there are some electronics somewhere. I found a link to a laptop program showing parameters don't know if the software is still available. The more I can do my self the better.

    P38A LPG issue Resolved

Well I have found the vapouriser online but out of stock https://tinleytech.co.uk/shop/lpg-parts/vaporisersreducers/injection/bigas-ri-21-sgis-double-reducervaporiser/ So looks like spares might be available.

    P38A LPG issue Resolved

OK out of the back of the vapouriser there is a solid pipe with what looks like a valve of some sort and two pipes going to two filters. These two pipes disappear under the back of the upper manifold one each side to something solid I can just feel with my fingers. So still looks like a bit of a...

    P38A LPG issue Resolved

There are two large pipes coming from the vapouriser one goes to the bottom of the throttle body and one disappears under the upper manifold.

    P38A LPG issue Resolved

Ah OK. Looks like the system is made by Bigas in Italy but not sure if it is still made or have spares available. I have emailed them and a couple of places in the UK to try and find out.

    P38A LPG issue Resolved

It's an 02 4.6 one of the last ones with the Bosch Monotronic system. And yes it's somewhere under the upper manifold. Pic shows what I can see under the manifold, looks like an injector?

    P38A LPG issue Resolved

As I posted a while back I needed to have the lpg system on my Vogue SE serviced as the previous owner had not tried or used it, maybe. I put some gas in it and tried it, it ran lumpy at low speed and under acceleration but at a steady 50 it seemed better. So last week I took it to a local...

    P38A Rear fog light switch

My guess is that the switch was duff or maybe a loose connection. Dash came to bits easier than I expected which was good. Had to make two metal inserts to get the radio out but apart from that it was straight forward.

All sorted. New switch sorted the problem

    P38A Rear fog light switch

Is there a recommended way to get the dashboard switches out. The rear fog light doesn't work so I want to check the switch connection as par of the diagnosis. Fronts work fine, rear switch doesn't light up when the fronts are on.

    I've bought another one

The story so far. New drag link and track rod, old ones all totally knackered. New steering damper New battery, the old one had a leak!! Four new Avon AX7 tyres and tracking done. Sunroof leaks so temporarily sealed it up Radio RDS is a bit hit and miss plus the cd changer has got stuck a...

P38A Should this bracket be attached?

It still has LPG but I have not used it and will be getting it serviced and tested before I do at a local specialist. I did suspect the bolt and thread hole but they don't come together easily, maybe why it's missing. Don't think it's had a lot of love recently but I will make it work a bit...

P38A Should this bracket be attached?

Have started to sort a few things out in the engine bay, including lubricating the throttle cable, replacing the battery(as it was leaking) fitting a cover on the ecu box that was missing. I have found a bracket that doesn't appear to be attached to anything and I just wondered where it should...

    P38A 4.6 V8 few questions

I am not new to the P38 so know lots about EAS and HEVACs but only the diesels. Now I have a 2002 4.6 I have a few questions. How long should it take to warm up? It seems much quicker to get to temperature than my modern Octavia Vrs. The viscous fan seems to spin all the time but it's not...

    I've bought another one

At the time I needed something my elderly mum could get in and out of easily. Now I am able to have a normal car and the P38 as a something to tinker with. Always want a V8 and now petrol is so cheap! ideal opportunity. Didn't make a loss on the DSE and it needed engine work
