See this is wht confuses me. I have taken the wading plug out and it is as dry as a bone! Yet, it leaks like crazy out of the bellhousing area! (When I say crazy - oil puddle prob the size of a 10p when I leave her parked up over night). It's just annoying. Sorry to hi jack the thread!

I'm intrigued by this, as I've got an oil leak coming out of my bell housing. Again it was a RRC 200tdi conversion. It's not a lot of oil, but enough to make me want to sort it! I'm gonna have a look for some missing bolts. Is it a gearbox out job, or is it a pretty easy fix?

Not many people actually update their threads when they find the solution, which never helps when people with the same problem, do a search, resurrect an old thread and have to ask the original poster, who more often than not is no longer a member. So anyway, the problem was the manifold...

I'm stranded...in my garage! Hopefully you wonderful mods will understand and not delete this :( My Defender with a RRC 200tdi implant requires a new exhaust manifold. I assume Disco and RRC 200's are the same :confused: Don't suppose anyone has one kicking about that they want to swap...

Instead of going for the Mud Dash, why don't you pay the same amount (£55) and buy the console that is fitted in the TD5's? Much more robust and looks the part!

Fair points made. I did consider going the re-trim route at one point, but then thought I would save the hassle n buy a pair of complete seats. Think I will get mine re-trimmed then. Cheers everyone!

I'm looking for two front seats for my Defender, but am astonished by the price of the things! They seem to be the most basic of seat of any vehicle, yet they demand such high premiums! I can retro fit a set of Disco 3 seats (£150) in the Defender for less than a set of decent Defender...

I'm 24 and have been with Lancaster for the last three years. It costs me circa. £300/annum, which is extremely good imo, with all mods (not many) declared.

If you mention the that the seal is perished, they will supply one...they did with mine. The reason insurance is so high, is because we have to pay for the morons who don't insure their cars.

I'm not being daft, but why don't you accidentally smash your windscreen, phone your insurance up and tell them about your accident...get a new screen and note to them that the seal is also perished. Total cost - your windscreen excess, usually about 60 quid and you get the job lot done!

Nope - if anything he needs old 88" HT sides if not actual new ones. I do know of someone that has a set from a 88", but is up in Scotland...

Lynall - you are right. Looks like the lift pump is leaking. I'm going to order a new lift pump instead of messing around putting a new seal in it. Hopefully all will be sorted then :) Thanks matey. Much appreciated!
