i was out greenlaning last week and met a nice guy who advised me of a company called lancaster

hey presto insurance is now 156 per year
and it includes off roading and green lanning
01480 484813 speak to a guy called adam he will give a bit more discount

I'll second that. I'm 21, 0 NCB, with a 1975 88. Lancaster was £250, the nearest quote from another company was over £2000. Only just insured with them so don't know what the customer service etc is like but seems good enough so far.

May have to look these guys up come renewal time. I'm 18, 1 yrs NCB and paying £1200 fully comp with Aviva! And that was already £2k cheaper than else where!

I'm 24 and have been with Lancaster for the last three years.

It costs me circa. £300/annum, which is extremely good imo, with all mods (not many) declared.

Definately ringing them when mine is due 21 with 1 year no claims on my 110. Paying a grand at the mo with admiral.

I'm also with Lancaster.

Just renewed mine and paying £560(ish); all mods included.
Checked confused.com and the lowest I could find was over £800!

Am 26 with 2 years no claim so I'm not sure why some of you are still paying a lot less than I am:confused:

Maybe it's because I'm on a European license; have now requested to have my license change over to a British one so we'll see how much of a difference that makes...

Im with Lancaster also, about £250 for my 1996 110 double cab.

They even sent me an 'agreed valuation form' due to me having a galv chassis & galv bulkhead. Filled the form in and told them what I thought it was worth, sent them some photos as proof and hey presto, they pretty much agreed my valuation!

I went with Churchill, £350 and agreed value.

Direct Line wanted £1200. I sent them an email asking if they were having a laugh - still no reply ;)

Will try Lancaster next time though.

600 quid? That is excessive! Out of interest, I ran a quote recently for someone who was 25, 300tdi 90 (so newer and more powerful) and just put it in as NCB as they had a second card, it was £222. Now I don't think there will be that many differences in the eyes of insurance companies between a 90 and 100 to justify any price like that.

So well done on getting it down to £156!

Been with Lancaster on an agreed valuation policy for many years now and they are pretty good. Just make sure you check the documentation though as they mislaid some of mine once and it caused problems when I had to make a claim.
I had agreed fitment of some accessories over the phone and sent them confirmation by post, I thought nothing of it until a year or so later when I had to make a claim and they disputed the fitment of the accessories meaning that although they would deal with the 3rd parties damage they wouldn't cover costs to my vehicle. I dug out a copy of the letter I sent them, gave them the date of the phone call and also showed them the photos that they had used to agree the valuation (showing the accessories in question) and 2-weeks later they agreed to pay for the damage and the accessories were added to the policy doccument. A couple of years later they also claimed not to have recieved my agreed valuation doccumentation which included reciepts, photos, signed valuation form etc, luckily I keep copies of everything but either their postal service is very poor or they mislay items.
