Quick question: 12v Cigarette Lighter Wiring Colours

Like an idiot, I disconnected my 12v cigarette lighter socket from the car when I was fitting my head unit, but forgot to label them up or when I re-connect them. I have the following colours: Purple Green Red/White stripe Black Which goes where? I keep swapping them between one...

I assume you aren't near any Land Rover Part suppliers? If you are really struggling give Paddocks or Land Rover parts, spares & repairs, servicing and online ordering. Tonks4x4. a call on Monday. They both have them in stock likewise any other Land Rover Parts Suppliers :) I was under...

How many Land Rover owners wished they had...

From what I can work out, the guy who is selling them bought Colin Mcrae's Mechanics garage and all the tools came with it. He's a joiner by trade though, so has no use for them.

    Battery powered impact wrench

I've got a Snap On one. Only bought it last week. My tip is, go down to your local mechanic, see if he has any spare he's willing to sell and you'll get one for a lot cheaper than the prices you have said. I'd double my money if I sold ya my Snap On for £120. ;)

Yes, another wiring diagram help request...

Before anyone starts, I've done a search, but to no avail to my exact needs! I've got an half wired in kenlowe fan, by which I mean I have: A Rocker Switch (On and Off) mounted in my dash, which I used to use for my spot lights. A Kenlowe Fan mounted and earthed I've found this...

    Help Re; Wheels

I'd be constantly worried about damaging them, whereas a set of steels you don't really need to care about 'um :)

    Help Re; Wheels

Boris, you are correct. I'd never run alloys on Defenders now as they are far too much effort. Standard steelies all the way, unless I can find some Wolf rims anyway :)

    Brake improvements?

I find it strange that new Defenders don't have ABS as standard...any reason why they don't?

So I fancy a CB Radio of some description, but...

Thanks everyone, much appreciated. I don't really know which way to play it, now you have given me all those options. I like the idea of the hand held radio, although, sometimes some of the guys who we go out with have CB's, so my concern would be that we wouldn't pick them up. The...

So I fancy a CB Radio of some description, but...

...I don't want a massive aerial mounted to the roof of my 90. Are there any inexpensive options available? Do walkie talkies/handheld devices work for example or am I better at just phoning him up on the mobile via bluetooth? It's only for the odd trip/weekend Green Laning. Hopefully...

    Thoughts on signwriting

I was thinking about this for my Defender and I also do Green Laning. The problem I have, is that my Customers are the type of people that walk Green Lanes and complain of us lot using byways etc, so I gave it a miss, as you don't want bad advertisement for your Company! What I would say...

    3 bolt holes ?????

It definitely is coming from the flywheel housing area now, as I've cleaned the engine itself, in which I found I needed a new rocker cover gasket and a new lift pump, as both of these were leaking oil. It's really annoying, because it looks like a pretty big job, for such a tiny leak...grrr :(

    3 bolt holes ?????

Right, that's another item on my "shopping list". 1 x 200tdi flywheel housing to block gasket. Thanks for the help! Much appreciated. I'm so glad it's not the rear main oil seal! Would I be correct in saying that if it was the oil seal, then oil would be dripping out my wading plug?

    3 bolt holes ?????

So basically, unbolt the gearbox from the engine, move gearbox back, new gasket between flywheel housing and block, and bolt back together. Please tell me that this isn't an engine out job! :( Do I not bother about the 3 bolts that are missing? I just can't be bothered with this reoccurring...
