No leak from the dust/hub cap. Just what you see in that photo...

Well, while I'm on about me leaks, I thougt I might as well post this. I have the typical oil leak on my n/s/r hub, as per below picture: The joys. Obviously it's a seal that's gone (I've cleared my breathers to no avail). I've had a gander on Paddocks site, but can't work out...

I'm finally getting around to sorting a few of my leaks out on me Landy. However, I'm having a bit of a problem with removing the problem seal. This is what I had as a leak: I've removed the drum, nylock nut etc and am left with this, however, I have no idea where to go next...

Interesting! Thanks James...I'm still trying to source a rear gasket, but they all seem to be the same as the one from earlier. I'm guessing it's a trip to the Dealers n many pennies being left there!

James, excuse my ignorance, but is this the "rear gasket" what you speak of? You may be right with regards to it not being the seal, cos when the engine was put in (just over a year ago) a new rear crank oil seal was installed. I just assumed it was a britpart seal/was inserted...

How are you getting on with it now Langers? I reckon I'll be doing the rear crank oil seal pretty soon, as this is what I currently have under my 90. I'm not getting any clutch slip or any other symptoms though. I'm not 100% sure where the seal is either, which is partially...

Well I thought Defender prices had gone through the roof, but that is based on when I was looking for another a few months ago.

If it's coming from the gearbox area, check your propshafts for any play first. Could just be the UJ's on their way out...

I dunno if this as already been posted on this forum, but I've just took it from another forum! Might be of some use!

I replaced the front UJ on the front propshaft first, then 50miles later my rear UJ on the front propshaft went...could have just been coincidence tho. I was advised to use GKN Hardy Spicer ones, which cost about £6.50 from Paddocks :)

Sorted...the green wire was from my rear wiper switch...whoops
