Try changing yer pollen filter passengers side under your pull cubby ,2x hex screws and a good pull down should get it out ,also check yer inlet vents are not full of crap, leaves and things . . . .

Yep i agree with that,the td4 will run with out the Maf (not efficiently ) but if the meesess chewed the signal cable before the connectors, taking the maf chip out will not help . . . .just my thoughts

Also Earthling . . . .I should mention ,after fitting new hose , just check to see if there isnt anything that rubs the hose , this hole is normaly caused by a pretruding stud from the engine , I normaly put a grommit over this otherwise it wont be long before it will be holed again, also check...

The tape wont last as it gets very hot and blow out black sticky goo buy a new complete rubber turbo inlet rubber hose ,undo the jubly clips clean the goo with a rag and fit the new hose . . . .easy job even for a stupid Earthling

Hi Twig :) just bin reading this and sounds like you've had some ****e , ok try this Ming test method [I'm er rockit injunear] put your hand on the lp pump inside cab on rhs ,get a helper to turn on ignition [yes i know its a doozle] you should feel the pump vibrate for about 8-12 secs then stop...

yes Earthling you need to make it a lot more secure , there is more weight than you realise , be safe. . . . . .

of course , jack up front drivers side as high as you can take wheel orft secure all safe with axle stands [this is quite a heavy motor so i double chock] take off side panel, under tray undo part front sub mount , then undo belts then water pipe 3x 10mm bolts then ac compressor [tie it up all...

I rotate even on the fl1 but do it on a regular basis if there was a big miss match then i would not . . . . .never had a problem and been doing it for years :)

ok update . . . . .yesterday in the wet un rain :mad: i got the alternator on ,just cut the main aux belt as I'm replacing both of them ,the big belt was in a reet mess reason being twas the old alternator had the front bearing goosed hence the smoke i think , any how you really do have to think...

Sounds like a tubo spin problem to me, but best to go through diagnostics first , iron out all the common things first, filters specially the fuel filter and the small vacuum air filter [at back of engine lhs and looks like a small old type fuel filter] fuel pmps ,2 on your motor , turbo inlet...
