Try a bolt out of a plug(wall)socket. They are a bit smaller

Slide a split hose pipe down the ladder behind the drop plate. Takes all the rattles away. Iv never worried about the DB system. Towed everything with this set up and always single pin. I like I can change from pin to nato hitch

Arb make have smaller pins but are double holes.make sure you get compatible parts Just wondering why do you want 2 pins?

Could that cable/conector have touched anything to make an earth? & put the light on

3.5v8 . It’s easy to go slightly bigger internals and on the outside you can’t tell the difference. Plus it’s a landrover and part should be available

After some info… So on my travels I saw a disco 3 or 4 with roof tent etc. the rear window was removed and a hatch put in its place. Looked like a made part. Any 1 know who makes these? (Unable to take photos was driving) Thanks

Spoke to a friend who built hi cap tubs and says you will struggle to rebuild these. Twin skinned and has to be built in jigs. (These were built/painted in the rough at Peugeot site before been shipped to landrover)

Nope.. there are 2 rams on it. I thought it would be heavy but it lifts up on its own. Think the struts are twice as powerful of the classic RR tail gate I would worry more about changing them tyres

If you have the tilt symbol on your panel… remove it & sell it. Them are rare

Crawl under the motor & find the gearbox. Look for some pipes & follow these. Most coolers are accros the front of the motor infront of the radiator. Now you could just have disturbed a cable to earth while you been doing maintenance.

Not spotted that symbol on defenders before. Now the sensor may be. On the gearbox oil cooler. Do you have 1 ? Some later ones had these fitted. Don’t normally see the probes on gear boxes
