V8 CHOKE CONTROL - WHAT SHOULD IT LOOK LIKE??

Can someone with an early Discovery 1 V8 tell me what the choke control should look like? Picture below shows choke knob exiting from dashboard, it looks to me like there was originally a plate or something like it behind it as it looks like there's an impression of something oblong having been there with six punctures of the fascia surface. I have tried to look for images online but found nothing. The two screws below I think are nothing to do with the choke, possibly someone had something fixed there at some point

Any help much appreciated!

So if you have a 3.5 disco between 1989-1990 years, both the carburettors had a choke that was operated by a bimetal assembly CUD2399L as shown as no.16 in the drawing below so not cable operated.
Later in 1990 the 3.5s were fuel injection until the 3.9 arrived.

As is stated, choke control. It’s even shown in the disco parts & workshop manual, which are a copies of both the RRc manuals, so for some markets the automatic choke control wasn’t acceptable perhaps
Also the bimetal assembly appears to alter the level of a jet so part of the carbs cold mechanism, and if there’s also a cable, that will go to a trunnion on the left hand carburettor.
So I think easy to find for the OP.

Thanks for the responses, I checked the official LR manual can't find anything regarding automatic chokes but it very definitely shows and discusses the manual choke.

Does the knob actually move anything on the carbs when you pull it? Pics if it does would help those that know:).
