    yuuuuuuukkkk

Apart from the horrible colour it has a look of untidyness, I have been looking at a number of AC Cobras, "going through a major mid life crisis" and some you look at are really well put together and tidy, but some seem to lack this, and I have to say this is one of them. Spraying it with mud is...

    Turbo Problem

Yup I'm afraid it dunt get easier, sometimes you need to take a break and revisit it. But it might be worth it so stick in. When I was a boy after shift was finished I went home then went back for the backshift. This was when all the painters and body guys came in on the side, never got paid...

    coolant leak

Gona be easy to trace if its hosing out, and gratch is right its not the heater matrix, could be a hose to it tho at the top or back of the engine, these hoses sit close to the engine and can chaff through if they aint secure and wrapped with a sleeve of old inner tube or summat. Even a cable...

    Noisey Alternaor

Not always it could have been the brushes, if it does it again stick a hose to it and listen to see if its the front or rear, I guess when you squirtid it and it went away you might have noticed. If it worries you take the belt off and have a good feel at it and spin it to see how it sounds. You...

If its a straight through pipe then its gona be fairly hot I imagine, you ever tried to grab an exhaust when its running, its melting stuff hot. I thought you had a n/a derv engine.

    coolant leak

No point guessing that one mate, just get a lamp and a mirror if required and look for where its running out, could be anything from a hose to a cylinder head gasket. Take a rag and dry it off as best as possible and watch where its coming from, could be tracking all the way from the front of...

Am I mad to want a soft top?

One other point I meant to say, the landies are noisy as fook with a canvas roof, not only road noise but the canvas itself whipping about

Am I mad to want a soft top?

I have a little sports that the roof comes down on, a few points. In the summer with the roof down you get cooked, traveling through towns it can be unbearable. Once up to spead you dont notice any problems, but its akin to being at the beach when its windy, you aint hot but you're getting...

    viscous fan removal

If it starts to overheat coz a fans died go for the plan B and stick on yur heaters at full blast. With the windows open its still uncomfortable but it works for the short time it takes to pull the temp back down. Dont think I would nick the air con fans tho, there is a fair bit of temp there...

    viscous fan removal

What you are actually saying here is that after 25 years the body fell off and you had plenty room, coz it was just an engine and chassis, no thinking about it just an engine.:)

    viscous fan removal

I would fit one big one, my disco has one but it rarely comes on, most of the time it comes on after its switched off taking away the residual heat and I think that can only be good for the engine, head gaskets etc. You can get plenty from the breakers, there is a bit one this site for that...

    200TDI starting problems

Dont get me wrong I guess anything is possible, just never seen it, I imagine the cost of one on a dozer might be a good reason for knocking it off, however at that level you must have had a big big hammer coz they are fokin tight wif a capital T, when you split em they bang like fook so much...

    viscous fan removal

When you take it off toss it to fook and fit an electric one. A fokin whole day!!!, did you stop a few times to give the missus a good seeing too, ffs I could have walked down there and got it orf quicker, without the shiny spanner, that you aint gona use again.;)

    viscous fan removal

It fokin is actually, over the years thos bastid fans have never come off for me, the fokin spanner is too small and thin and rounds off too easy, there aint no real way of locking em coz there aint no room in there and when it does go if it does its yur fingers that gets it. So myself and...

    viscous fan removal

Cant get a shifter into fans its toooooo fat, yur gona have to get a speshul one and its too fokin short and yur gon a bash yur fingers, I can see it coming, either that its gona be fokin solid and you bash the speshul spanner and it goes righty through the radiator.

    viscous fan removal

Yeh right, yur gona have both hands down the front of the engine pushing and puffing like fook and when it goes yur not gona get yur fingers:p And when was a shifter any good for tight stuff, slippy slippy oops.

    200TDI starting problems

I guess its possible, maybee?, never tried it since if the ring gear is fooked and even if its just one section then it tends to mangle the starter motor when it gets to the bad bit again as it jumps the teeth. Most engines are gona have at least one to two whole revolutions of it before it...

    Track Rod End Questions

Yup get it on a hard surface the flat bit of yur vice, and hammer around the area where the rod screws in all around the entire area. If that dunt work heat it up and cool it in a bucket of water a few times. Remember and measure, or count the threads or turns when you take it out.
