    Is my diff scrap?

If all your gears are ok, bearings, a crossshaft on ebay is about 5 quid or so, then go for it, cheaper than a diff. Build it up with thread lock.

    Is my diff scrap?

Are the gears siezed on the shaft or has some maniac tried to belt out a broken half shaft?? Diffs aint hard at all take the coont to bits, 4 big bolts and lift the crown wheel out, aint done a landie one but there should be adjustment on each bearing, mark the position and fit it back to...

    300 tdi power loss

I cut my sediment filter out, couldn't get it apart and the stoopid drain is ****, and it's probably in the worst place possible. The main filter is easy to get to and gets a heat from the engine, and it can be drained down. As mentioned probably the fuel pump, get a decent one.

Best way to remove rusted bolts ?

You can stick a recipocating saw in tight spaces, with alloy panels heat usually kills the panels.

    2" lift

I agree with trewey, any time I have been out my axles and steering were the things that grounded, in actual fact I knocked the damper off twice, raising it makes it more unstable anorl.

The solenoid is already done but the guy that did it cut the feed from that box, I was thinking that it might back feed, or if the box is left that the alarm is gona go off driving anorl at some point as it continues to fook up. When I used to shut the glove box or drive over a bump the hazards...

    engine immobilizer

My 300tdi has started to play up, stop the engine and the coont wont start again until you take the key out and press the alarm button. I traced it to the green box at the side of the glove box, the red wire has been cut already and a new wire run to the engine stop, there is no spider in...

Stick some oil down each cylinder, leave for a while give it a quick spin then do them again. That tests piston/ring wear.

    Power take off

Just noticed you said power take off, thats different, trucks have em and they are bolted to the side of the gearbox to drive such things as tipper pumps, water pumps etc, never seen anybody use one to drive a vehicle, most of the time they are used in neutral and they kick out if you try to...

    Power take off

There is a diff in there anorl so you would have to lock it up, but the transfer box sends it forward to the front axle:confused: Dont know if you can drive all the time with diff lock on rear wheel drive either.

vibration/ noise at front drivers side

Take control of the situation, what chance have you of getting a noise diagnosed on here. Or take it to a dealer and claim your money back from the garage. When I worked in dealers we hated jobs like this because we lost money on them, cant charge the customer for parts and labour if it aint...
