    Bling King

Well said! I've just had a moan on another thread about the attitude towards 'bling'. So what if people like chequer plate and alloy bits and bobs - it's their ruddy vehicle and they can do what they want! Defenders are workhorses but they're fun workhorses too! If people want to use them and...

    Chequer plate for sills

Yes, more defenders are being used as 'Chelsea tractors' but what's wrong with that? People are free to buy whatever they like and accessorise however they like and it also results in a lot of decent condition, hardly run in used Defenders out there for future off road work etc. I have a 110 DC...

    Immobiliser, Alarm or both

Try Clifford Alarms for your soft top...they seem pretty good...but ain't cheap I'm afraid. I'm just choosing the security for my new Defender too...thinking Full Metal Jacket, steering lock (full wheel one) and a mechlock. It has the standard LR alarm and immob too.

    Broken push rod

Hi Any help appreciated on this one please. My 300tdi 90 broke down on Sunday. It became very loud, lost power and started to vibrate. I pulled over ASAP and found that I'd 'lost' power altogether. After the RAC recovered me home, we found that I had a broken push rod in number 4 cyclinder...

    Rust prevention products?

Blimey teshu - you get Landy advice and chemistry lessons round here! ACF 50 (not WCF 50) is a well respected product. It's true that I've been recommended using it for the elctrolyte corrosion on the Defender but may be of use to you too - don't know - hence me suggesting you take a look...

    Rust prevention products?

yeah yeah yeah. Planes are made of alloy and other metals - this causes rust as the two react - sound familiar to Defender owners?!

    Rust prevention products?

WCF 50 - meant to be quite good - they use it on planes and stuff. Have a look and see what you think.

    What tyres?!

Thanks Widget - appreciated. I'm going to take a closer look at the BFGs and Grabbers - kinda like what I've seen of the BFGs..we'll see. Any one else got any other ideas please? As for the MTs - once I've got the new tyres on I'll let you know about whether I'll be selling them or not...

    What tyres?!

Hi Just bought a 97 300TDI 90 hard top and it's got BFG MTs on. As she'll be used everyday on the road....not the best tyre. I don't like the look of road tyres on a Defender...not chunky enough so am looking at all terrain tyres as a compromise. I'm new to 4x4 ownership so am unsure which is...
