hi - i ran the negative black from the battery and hooked up to a point on the underside chassis and tried starting, with no impact. is this what is being referred to/suggested?

yes! my new 110 has moisture build up at the point the front end of the flat bed where it meets the front seats so want to get the underside and top looked at and dried out before I wack whatever of the above suggestions I end up going with.

TOTALLY agree I would need to see at least 450 before I considered that filthy job, certainly wasn't a criticism of my local landy garage ( they are outstanding truth be told).

That is a good price. I have only tried one local indy LR garage and their quote was 450!

hi thanks for helping. the instrument cluster works as i think it should - when i press the unlock button on the fob the indicators both flash on the dash and when i lock it the cluster of red lights blink fast. i mean the indicators dont work in normal operation - when i inducate the sign...

I checked the fuses under the bonet and X2 are blown but I am assuming unrelated - F4 (headlight washers) and f5 (cooling fans). Guessing that wouldnt have any impact on the central locking or indicators...

no it only unlocks the drivers side. yes the red led seems normal on the fob. Fuse F1 seems fine - sorry what is fusable link fl3 in engine bay? Thanks!
