I might weel just be being fussy, but the steering on my discovery 2 seems to have a bit of play. Not normally a problem but do notice it more on the ice this past few weeks. Any ideas ?

Did it last night ! Put on ramp and starter easy enough to remove, even the top bolt. Just use 15mm sock and medium extension. Got new solenoid on starter for £25, 20 mins to re-fit.

when starting sometimes OK sometimes clicks solenoid but doesn't turn motor, then turn key a few times and starts eventually. checked battery and all OK.

Has anybody fitted a starter motor to a TD5 auto ? Any tips or tricks ? what should I typically pay for a starter motor ? Thanks,

Does anybody know the diamteter of the hose from the turbo to the intercooler pipe on a TD5 Auto ?

To answer both questions above. Omagh N.Ireland, and the small pipes are fine, I've had them all off and clean rge aire intake pipe and the 90degree block on tiop of the pipe from the engine breather. How do you check if it's the wastegate sticking or the modulator solenoid ?

no. just checked inlet pipe to turbo and small pipes to wastegate actuator and all clear, also arm to wastegate moving freely but still. I'm assuming this is normal. no lights on dash at all so debating spending the money to put on diagnostics ?

2000 Discovery TD5 auto surging when you floor it from low revs. Have replaced fuel filter and used injector cleaners but no better. Drive steady it's fine up till 2500RPM then flat with no torque beyond. Any ideas welcome.

are you sure it's the sunroof. Mine was leaking and it turned out to be the seals at the top side windows at tha back or the roof. water gather between headlining and roof each side of the sunroof and comes out seat belt holes when going round corners.

have to change the anti roll bar bushes on my disco 2 with ACE. Had a go last weekend but given wrong bushes by dealer and a wipe out. any tips as seems really tight to get bracket back on?

I had this. ABS sensor on rear wheel. You'll need someone with a diagnostic reader to read the fault and rest the code. If it re-appears you'll need a new hub assembly.

does anybody know how to remove the air pipe. do you just pull the pipe out of the fitting. ( on commercial trailers the air fitting are a one time fit only ), or do you unscrew the fitting with a 10mm spanner. If so how do you deflate the airbag, and get the spanner onto the fitting ?

why do you need it off? generally if you take it off you'll do well to get it back on without it distorting.
