Should do a cull on the royals, put all there money back into hospitals, care homes & how many homelessness people could
you get into that auld palace.
No need for all there estates, policing armed response protection, bullet proof vehicles there would be enough left over
to fill all the pot holes from here to the moon. 🤣🤣
Have you been sniffing round their garage and coveting their collection of Landies? Which one have you got yer eyes on? Oh yea, the V8's 🤣

We needs the royals ter help tourisum. Yer can do all yer listed if we ban alcohol and spend the money on yer list instead. Add in the savings from police and medical anorl.

I dug into this and this is what it came up with.
Basically the only humane way to do it is to bash them over the head or body with something.

Any sort of humane trap is seen as cruel, and any sort of poison is a "last resort".

From UFAW:
"It is therefore recommended that live caught rats and mice are humanely killed, using a concussive blow to the head. The trapped rat will need to be transferred to a sack:eek::eek: before delivering the concussive blow to its head."

So basically this means putting yourself in some danger even if you are totally tooled up and experienced with it all, as a trapped rat can wee on you and bite you unless you know what you are doing.
It doesn't mention shooting it in the head or elsewhere, but I guess that would be a pretty "concussive blow".

This is getting to be a topic that is animating some people, wish I hadn't brought it up, as I did, more or less just for laughs. ;)
So yer found a web site that suggests clubbing them to death is the best meffud. When searching the web you have to step back and consider if the information being given is the best. They set themselves up to be an authority on animal welfare but dun't say how you hold it in the sack to gerra head shot while clubbing it to death. Trap in a cage then get it out and club it. That's not somefink most peeps will have the stomach to do.

We hadda a rat. Only seen on camera in me naybors garden infrequently. Once in mine. Me naybor caught it. Screwfix supply a plastic box wiv a rat tunnel. Rat sized trap inside wiv pull cord to set, from outside. Positioned so it snaps onto a rats head when it walks through to find said bait inside. Instant kill.

Thats a bit steep. Assume yer open to offers?

Went chopping in sainsberrys yesdi. Got meself 3 packet mixes for me bulk batch of homemade meals. If anyone asks they taste orrible so they dun't get eatid by others. On said packet it says serves 4, 7.3 grams of fat each. Thats got me wondering. Normally the lable lists the nutrional value of whats inside. Like a pie box does. But on this occasion 4x 7.3 grams of fat in a packet mix seems a lot. Are they referring to the whole casserole when yer add yer chicken and veg eye wonder?

You make it sound like I went searching for something to deliberately make some weird point, I didn't I just searched for "most humane way to kill a rat"
The UFAW is a respected bunch They combine with the RSPCA and the IAT did you actually bother to find out who they were?
Tells you why poison isn't a great way of doing it and I got this link by going to the gov.uk site first.
Which also said that if you catch a grey squirrel humanely you are NOT allowed to release it back into the wild again.
Actual quote from gov.uk
"It’s an offence to keep or release some wild animals, for example grey squirrels - you must kill them humanely if you catch them alive."

As the bpca say rat traps often don't work cos they are wary of anything new in a garden. Altho they may if you take your time.

One or two people a year die out of 50-60 cases of Weils disease each year. Which is why it isn't "Love your rat week" round here at the mo.

If that trap is automatic, that trap sounds quite good.
