Freelander 1 SOLVED; Turns over but no start…

UPDATE;
Sudden non-starting… just crank, no ignition. No MIL. No loss of power previously. Not been struggling at all.
Replaced HP regulator with new.
No change, still cranking but no ignition.

Anyone see anything obvious in the below data (obviously just ignition on as the bloody thing won’t start)? Low pressure supply runs around 350kPa for 10 seconds or so, before dropping to 99.

Rail pressure 0? Does this mean the HPFP is toast and not pushing through?

Only 1 stored code (and it has not had codes read or deleted for about 12 months)… P0237 Turbocharger boost sensor A circuit low. Battery has been run down a few times and half the sensors unplugged in last few days.

Engine WILL try to fire on easy start, but won’t run at all, so suggests no fuel getting through?

… fuel pressure sensor (end of fuel rail) reading 0.5v, so that seems fine

Anyone want to sell me a decent F2!

Rail pressure = 0 ?? Engine speed = 0 RPM ? Sureley the HP pump needs the engine turning ?

Do the same diagnostic reading with the engine cranking on fully charged battery (or jump cables). Then see if the rail pressure looks better ?

Think I’m going to start with check the fuel delivery, starting just after the LP pump filter, then work from there.

… and this is killing my battery! Drains now after 30 seconds of play crank time

SOLVED…

I had replaced the camshaft position sensor last year, with an off-brand cheapie new one, just as part of a maintenance drive. Buy cheap, buy twice. It was knackered already.
Poor volts measured across the sensor at cranking (<1v, should be around 5-8v). Switched for a cheap new just to prove - good signal. Bit of easy-start to persuade ignition after all the fuel lines being off, et voila!

I did replace the HPFP regulator (and therefore seals).

Good tidy-up of intake manifold during the refit. Took the trouble to replace the 8 top bolts with new (2 snapped). Remove the captive originals from the sleeves and replace with M6 x 40mm from B&Q. £3.80 for 10 ;)

New battery fitted for good order.

Seems nippy and running well. Good pressure on low and high side, ~370 and ~23k at idle, so all good.

Now looking to replace the (new) sensor with a proper LR or expensive quality branded version. Will carry the other as a spare!
