    Freelander 2

I'm not sure its quite so simple as that. There are lots of sounds/noises the car makes that go through the car's sound system - reversing sensors on mine and lots of dings for belts, ignition and other stuff. I'm not that clued up with how stereos/head units/infotainment systems work these...

I'm sure I wouldn't have made such a rookie mistake. Well OK, I might have, has been known

Did she ever have a SS1? I thought she had a GTE. Better for towing the horses.

    Hi all newbie here

Think you'll find that is probably Oct 2000 - ie for the vented brakes. Would be better to use VIN numbers.

You lot have no sense of fun. :D

They were quite popular over here, presumably as Jap imports. They're getting on a bit now and don't see so many on the road. There's probably more Jap imports sold over here than new cars.

Is the Curren a Jap import?

Normally when someone has a drop top sitting next to their F1 it's a MGF. Nice change to see summat else. I was going to get a Scimitar SS1 earlier in the year, but Mrs Grumpy vetoed it... and we ended up getting the F2 instead  I'm happy with the F2, but I should have ignored the...

Nice :D Lets hope the old one doesn't just become a parts car and you can spend some time on it to run both or sell it on to someone else to enjoy.

The screen will be expensive, but then when they fit it they have to recalibrate all the damm sensors that are hidden behind it which knocks the price up. Bet its got a heated screen as well, once again knocking the price up. Still an awful lot of cash though.

    FL2 Alternator pulley shaft....??

I presume that's 1 of the new(ish) fandango pulleys with a clutch. I don't know what's gone wrong with it, but they're so much betterer than old pulleys with no clutch and nothing to go wrong.

That's a good price on wheels and the tyres.

Don't be fooled by that 1999 - 2006 bit. Ones from a 2000+ do not fit a <2000 model properly and I presume visa verse.

It would take a long time for me to realise if mine was restricted to 110. While I may cruise around at about an (indicated) 110, its very rare I head over that.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Good on you. You'd have been chuffed when you got back from your drive. Worth putting the effort in ;)

FL2 - hit and run (no one hurt) - damage repairable?

The F2 is my daily, the F1 is Mrs Grumpy's. They're both great cars and I enjoy driving both of them. In fact I enjoy the F1 more now I'm only driving it at weekends and days off. I'm off at the mo and driving it more, but if I just want a laid back cruise, I'll pick up the F2's keys. Helps...

But if you want to "physically remove" it, there will be that cost.

Don't you have to have the gas professionally removed if you want to remove the compressor?

    Scored myself a new job

Just tell 'em you drive a Land Rover - they'll know your mad enough ;) Yeh, its frikin steep there. He really was lucky, could have gone right over the cliff. I've lost the brakes on my D1 on roads out that way. There are numerous signs saying campervans and the like should not go down...
