there was a TSB for this which involves replacing the power steering return hose for a new design,i had mine done and 80% improvement,the noise is more annoying than you can feel it,basically its hydraulic hammer in the system but it sounds like mechanical,is dont do no damage buts its very annoying

be carefull with a rover head when its been skimmed as this can make for more probs,the long head bolts screw into the oil ladder on the bottom of the engine and they almost bottom out !!! so a skimmed head lets the bolts go in even more,this ford think could be part of the...
if the water is coming from that pipe that looks like a mouth of a duck billed platipus then its the drain for your aircon (read ya manual)as aircon takes the moisture out of the cabin(hence its used for demisting)and dumps its on the floor via that pipe

you need to know how much oil and refidgerant are in it so empty and refill so you get them right to much of 1 or the other could make things worse,dennis on another forum knows alot about aircon...
