Hi Guys. The pipe eventually started to go at the weekend in deepest darkest Wales. Tiny did her duty and got us home and is still on work - home - work duty until LR can get the flaming pipe in. Turns out its 4 coolant pipes + the fuel rail so a DIY job is out of the question. Gonna have to dig deep for the old gal and fit it myself...fun times ahead. Ming - Just seen the price of diesel and Tiny seems up for it. Is it just as simple as pouring a few litres of netto's finest into the tank?

"senior" member mate ;)
Just a thought - any hippo's on here beaten Tiny on the miliage front yet? Who has had theirs the longest? new thread needed here methinks...who's gonna do the honours?:)

Tiny's sump pan appears to have been last refitted by hercules. Anyone got any tips to losen the bolts?

Air gun?
impact device?
flame thrower?
Drill?
Semtex?

i know - getting silly! I assume you tried the old WD40 etc?

WD40, Sockets, spanners, hammer, lighter and half of Digitalman's tool box. Why is it always the last bolt you can't loosen? Never the 1st is it?

it is only the first if the rest are even worse!
can you drill out the head and then remove the rest after removing the sump?
or else hacksaw a slot in the head and use a chisel and hammer to shock it into submission..

last resort - use a "Dremel"

Yeah - the dremmel came in useful getting the battery out last year after some spotty geek from Halfords cross threaded the bolt in their "free service". If Digitalman's wrench doesn't do it I will resort to the slot and chisel method I think. Thanks. (waiting tentively to hear from the dealer that my gold plated pipe has arrived):D

Ok folks - update on poor 'ol Tiny's progress.
The leak has stopped for some bizarre reason, however I am assuming this is just because she knows she doesn't get time off in the week to bleed water.
After handing over £145 to the main stealer I am now the proud owner of a new pipe. To be honest "pipe" is a bit if an understatement - it looks more like a metal octopus and links to just about every hose under the bonnet - including the fuel lines!. After trying to get the stubborn belly pan bolt off using a torque wrench, a blowlamp, a chisel and a dremmel I then noticed that the bottom hose can be removed via the wheel arch...oops. So work commences at the weekend. Wish me luck!!!

:) Did the Dremel work - or you give up - or you notice wheel arch before you started - do you have one chewed bolt now (betta than one chewed nut!)? Aint that just typical - 5 minute job - 5 hours later - remove one bolt you hadnt noticed and hey-presto! "Its the joy of workin on cars!";)

Yep - the bolt is well chewed now. Was lying underneath and noticed the bottom hose smiling at me through the wheelarch liner. Would have loved to have seen the look on my face! Hey - I recon we all chip in and buy this for spares... Ebay item 170017288521 - have a look!:D
