    wireing loom

Sure you can make something that works, but if you want all the right sheathing colours in the correct gauges with the correct terminals reliably crimped with all the legs exactly the right length and with the right binding..... £71 sounds pretty good price to me.

Painting a landy on your driveway?

Gazebo.... What could possibly go wrong?

Is this a fake e-bay listing?

Na - there is something odd about motor dealers on eBay - they don't seem to accrue feedback - perhaps due to them only listing classified ads? So I wouldn't worry about that - seen it loads. But whether the price is a typo or whether the guy is legit.... well you could always call and find out?

Chopping rear bulkhead to suit back rest

Yeah, the top strip is a folded, (galv'd?) steel affair and is very rigid. With that chopped, the remaining ally panel is very weak. You need something if you're chopping the capping. Personally I'd recommend the original LR bulkhead removal bar.

    defender 90 2.5 N/A rebuild???

I bought my 90 with a Nissan Cabstar engine. It did the job and had been moderately well converted..... But the engine was getting old and sourcing the correct parts was looking to be a bit of a pain. In converting to disco tdi, i now know exactly what is there, how old, how many miles, how...

    V8 18 year old insurance

We'll done for getting a v8. But you're going to get smashed for the cost of insurance - especially with declared mods like a roof tent etc and the intention of international high mileage driving. Personally I think you're in a dream world unless you have extremely wealthy parents who are...

Can a 3 door defender be made into a 5 door?

I have but regret it now as its a bugger to get in & out. Don't do it.

    Nut + Bolt size guide

I put together the attached file when I rebuilt mine. It's not an exhaustive list! Plan was to convert all to SS till I realised that wasn't such a great idea. In the end I just bought a couple of boxes of M6 in different lengths, M8 and M10 likewise. Cheap enough if you buy in bulk from...

    Lambo Doors on a 90?

Oh and to another fun question a.... Have you thought about finding an insurer that'll even entertain the concept of a defender with scissor doors... Let alone for a 17 yr old!

    Lambo Doors on a 90?

Well i for one would like to see the restored morris - point out what you did by yourself, what you had help with & we'll all be able to admire your work & judge what would be a good level to aim for...

    Lambo Doors on a 90?

Rear suicide doors - nice.... Pillarless with frameless windows too I'd say. Maybe a chop top? Fairly uncommon on defenders. Chrome plated chequer plate? definately. Or a good mod? Wasnt it tonks who widened the entire vehicle to give a couple more inches elbow room?

Won't go wrong with a toad. Fitted 3 now to previous cars and no faults whatsoever. Loads of extra remote outputs etc which if you're feeling flash can do all sorts of things such as remote worklights, deadbolts etc...

    aluminum or stainless bolts

Bolts are medium carbon steel not mild steel. They may have used low grade bolts (maybe 4.6?)... But really ought to have been 8.8 tensile strength. I very much doubt they'd have been aluminium bolts - almost unheard of in automotive situations. A2 grade stainless fastenings will rust less...

MGF - main bonus points - theyre very thin, cheap, comfortable and being from the Rover family, the seatbelt buckles fit and are on stalks which move with the seats.

    Swing out spare wheel carrier

May I suggest that before you invest your time designing safety devices that you actually get some struts and look at their travel damping? The ones I have in front of me from a Honda civic take all my body weight to compress (one) yet when released take ~3 seconds to reach full extent...

    Swing out spare wheel carrier

Gas struts don't tend to shoot up - they're designed for slow movement assist. A simple lock mech to keep it down? I wouldn't worry about them 'springing up' taking your teeth out all of a sudden as with regular springs!
