You need to give us a bit more info. Have you put a relay in the screen circuit, how is it wired ? How is the switch wired ? and the fuse and the earth etc, plus what vehicle and year.

Yes I think you have to change the complete thing. Some Land Rovers you can get just the switch and some only the complete assembly. A parts person is the best to ask.
