I've fitted new door tops and within a week the felt runners are soaking and looking awful . most of the water is overflowing from the gutters , the gutters drain holes seem to clear , however the drains have about 5mm of sealant in , is this normal or should they be bare metal ? , also is it inevitable that felt will get wet , it is exposed afterall and you can only seal so much . Also water is dripping onto my right foot by accelerator and I can't see where that is coming from , any help would be appreciated . Thanks

the bit on the accelerator may be coming in via the windscreen mounts to the bulkhead, my s3 is doing that at the mo.

I've tried lots of sealants from gutter joining stuff to bathroom waterproof silicon . And they haven't worked. So I was told of some sealant called "tiger seal" , so when I managed to get hold of some, I set about sealing the roof . First I changed the door seal, to a 90 one piece seal. Once I fitted it, I shut the door and looked up inside to see if the door top was tight to the seal, if it wasn't I tapped the metal that seal was on until it was. Then I scrapped out the gutter and all round, and put a bead of tiger seal in and smoothed it in with my finger, wiping the excess off. I did that all round . Since I did this my footwells have been bone dry.

Ok , I'll take a look , thanks , just had a look at gutters they may have be filled very high with some sort of sealant , sealant above doors is almost level with gutter so water just sits on it and then overflows around gutter and into top of brand new door tops and soaks felt , also gaps in gutter are only at front so how is water supposed to flow to front when youre on the level ?

Ok just had a look at the guttering , what I thought was sealant was actually the metal on the lip of the roof entering the guttering so it hasnt actually got any sealant in , I can see top of rivets and water is leaking through those , have put some sealant from poundland in there as a temp fix until I can get some better stuff so ill see if that fixes the problem short term

In 35 years Iv'e never been able to stop a Landie leaking for long. Good luck with it. Sometimes mine did not leak for a while then I parked on the drive facing the other way and.............. well the bugger leaks and fills the footwells.
