Have you checked your half shafts and drive flanges? Put it in diff lock if it will drive then it isn't the clutch.

What a pointless thing to know! Are you going to get out and measure an obstacle before you try and drive over it?

Pull the plastic shroud off the column and have a look at the switch unit. They are incredibly crude with exposed contacts etc. It might just be needing a bit of metal bending to make a contact. Or a new switch won't break the bank. A lot of indicator faults are caused by the hazard light switch...
