I have taken freelanders out before & not got stuck. A D1 got stuck(beached) in tractor rutts.
You can get some freelanders into places that some Landrovers won't go.
I used to race(comp safari) a freelander & never worried about traction
Before that I used to annoy all the special Landrovers with a 4x4 panda :oops:

To be fair a panda 4x4 is actually quite good, skinny as hell tyres and weighs next to nothing, just floats over the top of everything!

Just doesn' have any height... based on those pics a hippo is very likely gonna be beached unless you can straddle.

You could straddle these ruts if needed but the grass was a bit long.
Some people just follow the leader. We had been through the week before the other way with the series 1 on small tyres. No one got stuck but was intresting.

Ive always been very impressed with the Wiltshire service

If I didn't get car sick I'd ride shot gun on a first time out just see how it all goes etc.

So your options are:

1. Go in your own vehicle, (it will probably be fine)

2. Go in someone else’s but take anti-sickness beforehand and sit in the front and be gate b*tch/photographer etc (involves getting out a lot)

3. Don’t go at all.

Yep... I'd managed to work out my options already but thanks for clarification.;)
I'll probably go in mine but won' be till next year now as I got a few bits I need to sort first. :)

Option one is the best option, being gate bitch it laborious.

Deffo get it sorted and go, it’s surprisingly good fun :)

Always wanted to give it a go... bit nervous about meeting a load of people I don' know but everyone seems nice.

Yeah I can understand being worried about that, but take a mate, and leave a note at home of where your going and for how long and with whom.

Meet in a public place (the Surrey lot often meet at a cafe for breakfast first)

If you don’t like it, or don’t want to do a bit of a lane then that’s fine - don’t - and you can leave and go home whenever you want!

Short bike ride round the ridgeway give the dogs a run.
Still nice & dry. No one out.
I have work to do on the landy but still may sneak a day before they close to motors at the end of the month.

@dieseldog69
@The Mad Hat Man @flat

So planning routes not far from sunny swindon again for May BH Monday.
5 motors to the group & some different lanes to what MHM & DD have drove before. Mostly non scratchy.
Start 09.30 till you want to finish if it's dry.

(Just waiting on the young German lady to confirm the dates.)

If you can't make it I can still sort GPX files out for your own driving ;)
