I'd go for the second one personally, not too keen on buying other people's toys in that sense, the lift argument is out there, so it's a long way back if something goes wrong, not to say it will.

The second one looks quite tidy, at least you can spend some time looking over it in a more relaxed way ( ie not driving/travelling 4-5 hours first )

nope:p ,just means that yer got more chance of not coming across sum fookwits arf arsed attempts to make his toy look mean:rolleyes: an not finishin off properly wot they started, like purrin a wooden dash an door kit in a series 2a an a stereo:rolleyes::D

Nothing wrong in putting a stereo in a 2A, for those long roadside waits for the AA.:p

There isnt much else to use a battery for, is there on a 2A? Only the two candles at the front and a radio.

I would never buy a car that looks like it's been abused. To me people only have a lift for one reason and that reason is to off road. I made sure mine had never been off road before I got it. Don't base a choice on distance. You will have to live with it for years.

What's the point in having a 4x4 and not offroading it?? (Gaylanders excepted) and how can you possibly know if the vehicle you have bought has ever been offroaded? None of my landies has ever had been lifted. but they've all been offroaded.

Your statement is utter and complete bollocks.

:D:Dsnigger:D:D

It all depends on what you going to be doing with it - daily runner or weekend offroader??

personally I would go for the 200tdi its already half way to a decent offroader plus 67,000 on the clock (if genuine) is nothing for a landy and if you didnt want all those extras just sell em and get some money back - those tyres dont come cheap!

cheers for the comments guys! i like the blank canvass idea, but then i wil have to spend more money getting better tyres and lifting it abit. i would lower that 200tdi back to 2" to be honest. it will be both a daily and a weekend offroader. my main car then abit of green laneing of a weekend. not major offroading really. i seem to be leaning towards the 200tdi aswel...

problem solved! the 300tdi sold yesterday. never realised how much of a ball ache it is to get to london!

whats the point it that it aint a shopping car..

thats like buying a subaru imprezza and saying i bought one that i made sure the turbo had never been used.and it hadnt been raced

a defender is an out and out 4x4 to be used properly and not as a shopping/school run car

haha im not arsed if its been offroaded, as long as its been wel looked after and always had good oil and good services itl be fine.
