anyone needng a starter spacer, water fittings, oil fillers etc...please contact me has my main job is reconditioning cummins b series

im running the HX35w turbo off the 210hp in mine with plenty of tweaks and +40hp injectors are on their way :D
do you know what pressure the wastegate kicks in at?

also do you get non Intercooled boost pipes in? (the one that goes round the back of the engine)

ill be interested in the starter spacer and the bottom water outlet just need to see which way they point? (both my rad outlets are on drivers side now) also does it have the alternator mount built in like the original?

yes i can get the boost pipe you require.....the starter spacers are a rare item normally found on the 210 bus spec dennis elite engine (i have only2)....but they keep the crap out of the bell housing better than using washers..these engines have the inline bosh pump and a higher capacity lift pump...the boost preasure info you require i will check up on...the water housings are a gold mine in them selves ...only came on this wonderful site for the first time yesterday....if you can give me email address can send you pictures and info at your request...

I was at cummins power generation in kent last week measuring up stuff.
Anyway whilst checking out the goodies I saw a stack of 300+bhp 6bts:love:
Strange thing was they were running ve injector pumps

did you get a pic? they sound tasty
electric controlled VE? or just one with a bigger plunger?

no did not get your pic im crap on these computers....i will list a starter spacer on ebay tonight.....will list has land rover starter motor adapter..£5....plus £2 p&p

do you think this would fit in a series? or a range rover? see this topic im really reved up nd no place to dispurse yikes!! how much do these engines cost as non runners and are they built with no ecu's?

i emailed you last night via landyzone. so you should have my email address. if you can email me when youve put it on ebay then ill buy it instantly.

running engines with gearboxes can be brought for £600 (like i did)
but if i dd it again id buy a whole truck for £900 so then i have all the little bits and bobs and can scrap/sell the rest to make some money back... also you have the benefit of test driving the truck to make sure the engine and box work correctly.

would need a defender front and at least a 90 (93") wheelbase to fit it all in as its really tight in the 90.

I'm amazed with the amount of torque these engines make it isn't ripping the land rover bits of the drivetrain apart. Clearly they are up to the job of a lot more power (for a while anyway!)

the LT230 transfer box will hack the pace its the diffs that normally go... ive got ARB diffs in to help toughen it up and three hardened half shafts in (one blew when the standard CV went due to bent track bar)

The lt230 is good, with the cummins it will hold up as long as you roll on the power.
On a yank site someone put a tuned cummins at maybe 1500lbft+ onto a supra box. It promptly tore its bellhousing in half:eek:

6bts can be buoght relatively easy at moment...has emission control is getting strickter in the bus world, alot of opperators going for euro 3 cummins engine busses...the truck engines are normally found in better condition....have come across verry clean truck engines in good running order but have found problems like excess thrust in cranks to the point where they have damaged main thrust cap....camshaft and followers are almost a dead sert to be warn....cracked front timing case....plus no fuel pump supportbracket will mean instant failure....compressors can be removed and replaced by blanking plate....or like wise power steering pumps can be removed and replaced with power stearing pump cummins blank....the front and rear oil seals can be replaced easily but if using the insertion ring supplied with most seals puts the seal in exact orriginal position due to a wear lip made on crank by seal means it will more than likely leak again...wear sleaves can be purchased to elliminate this ....the oil coolers have a bypass valve incase of blocked filter they open allowing unfilterd oil to engine a,common problem found is to see this valve broken causing premature engine wear.......dont let me put you off these engines are very versatile, addaptable,,,problems found after breaking them down for many years

haha i would like to see that! at the moment im running about 200+hp and 500lb/ft or so... i come off roundabouts in 3rd and drop it in 5th and it will still make good progress!

i was told the preasure for waste gate being 30psi...but i have not seen any tech data to confirm....

mine goes off the gauge at 30psi lol

update for you guys...
ive fitted a modded full width TD rad with 2" inlet and outlet on drivers side...

as you can see much more cooling now and nicer pipe runs with no kinks :D

also got the boost pipes sorted and fitted valve cover with an oil filler

Still on the long road to tidying the conversion up but along the way im having a little more fun...
along with my +40 fuel pin ive now fitted some +40hp injectors and a boost gauge with more range... getting 40psi now so thinking the wastegates siezed so will just keep a watchful eye on the pressure as much above 35psi aint healthy lol

Heres a short run out with my new injectors... making some nice noise!!

You need to get yourself a intercooler.
Anyway I think I may have got my hands on a 6bt with inline pump rated at 300bhp so Ill be cranking it up a bit:D
Just got to find a cheap 110 and some patrol axles which a stronger than a ford9"

yea im looking at Cosworth ones as ive seen them fitted sucessfully taking the pipes through the wings... im looking into compound charging it just for fun tbh as im starting to gt twitchy finger again haha

and the 300hp 6bt sounds nice what sort of power you wanting from it? i know the 12mm VE pump can be taken to 500hp+ so im happy to stick with it for now lol

What trucks an buses have the 6bt engine in steggers. Some of the engines on ebay are abit dear and id prefer do how ya said and buy a full truck to make things easier.
