Nothing .. was going to drain oil and change filters, but peeing it down and ICBA .. ;)

Tomorrow now ..

Replaced the heater control cable and oil filler cap seal.

Heater should work properly now, and I should get no more oil leaking from the cap!

Next jobs are to replace the oil pressure switch and fit extended breather pipes to the axles.

Oil change, filter change, all's good .. including rear diff oil .. ;)

Put me sleeping platform in the Disco (wild camping Saturday/Sunday in the Lakes) and re-arranged all the kit. Dunno how it happens but it's amazing how much space you can find when you think about it methodically ....

... and have a wife with no clue but who thinks almost logically and points out your errors in packing!!!!:lalala::mad:

I've been applying Dinitrol this afternoon. Seeing as the weather was so warm it seemed like a good idea. I now have it in my hair, in my ears and up my nose. I think some even went in the chassis too - I shall check properly once I've cleaned it off my glasses. The 3125 formulation really soaks in and spreads well. I've done all the inside bits of the chassis I can reach through the holes and started spraying black and sticky 4941 on the outside of the chassis but knocked off for my tea. Oh, and I've scraped the rust off the front bumper and got a couple of coats of red oxide primer on it. I shall give it a coat of black Hammerite tomorrow and put the end caps back on.

Fitted new glow plugs, started it up, listening to the engine and looked at the smoke and need to redo the pump timing tomorrow/saturday. Then parked it back against the garage.

steering wheel was way out after doing the track rod ends and drag links. drove it straight made sure steering box was inline.couple of turns on the drag link and the steering went straight.all nipped up and test drive all fine even lock to lock. job done. :D

Fitted a new air filter which arrived today. I have now found what the hissing sound was under the bonnet. Turbo hose split. Tried to repair it with super glue until the new hoses arrive which I have ordered.
The glue seems to work, it has stopped the black smoke when under load.

Super glue got blown off. Lasted about five miles. The new hose should arrive in a day or so.

Been lying underneath it for a couple of hours spraying the chassis. I've just come in for a coffee and to clean the overspray off my face with white spirit - the secret of my youthful skin. It kept looking like rain so I haven't painted my bumper yet.

i have opened the bonnet, thought about checking my idle speed and thought about taking the rocker cover off and sorting the leaky gasket but i shut the bonnet and gone for tea ass its just ****ed it down......

maybe later......

had a **** few days trying to replace my ace pipes and replace steering box seal whilst trying to fit it in with paying work

I've just come in after a bit more fiddling. I've finished spraying my chassis and have Hammerited the front bumper and rear crossmember. Then for good measure I sprayed a bit of Dinitrol inside the doors through the little holes in the bottom. Then I took the dashboard to bits to enable me to thread a new radio aerial wire through, and replace some bulbs. The dashboard lights up in places I didn't even realise were supposed to be illuminated now. I've also managed to find an ignition switched live and an earth to attach to my new lighter socket (the previous owners had clearly used the cables for something else) so I can charge things up on the go now. My girlfriend says I'm dirtier than she has ever seen me before.

Nothing on Disco today. But I replaced the rear gear shifter on my bike, only to fail in adjusting it for tomorrows ride. :(

Set the shifter to the lowest the set the gear to the same and tighten the clamp on the cable. If its shifting past the end gears use the stop screws to limit the movment.

Hi Discomark.

I done that, but I can only get either 1 - 5 or 3 - 7. I cant seem to get it right across the range. Still, the ride is all flat tomorrow so I left it adjusted to 3 - 7. I'm wondering if my chain is stretched,
