Hi Discomark.

I done that, but I can only get either 1 - 5 or 3 - 7. I cant seem to get it right across the range. Still, the ride is all flat tomorrow so I left it adjusted to 3 - 7. I'm wondering if my chain is stretched,

sounds more like the sifter or selector is wrong for the amount of gears available rather than a chain problem.

Notice yesterday had a slight blow on engine. Well today found where it was blowing, bolt missing from exhaust to cylinder head is missing, the nearest one to front of engine. So now on hunt for new bolt

Towed some staging with it and sat there puzzled about the funny noise from my turbo.... cant spot a hole!

New Master & Slave cylinders fitted! De-Cat & Straight Through ready to go on tomorrow :D

Then I think maybe an internal clean.... Still has mud inside from 4 months ago....

Swore at it lots, engine still smokes to much, cannot seem to fix it despite doing everything possible.

Considering taking it off the road now and getting a defender instead.

Cleaned up some rust on the battery box ready for painting, found holes. Guess I'm cutting tomorrow and welding then.

I really should stop looking for the rust.

Repaired my front Warn winch free spool. The thing was completely jammed up and could only spool out using the control, however a simple fix of removing the handle cleaning out the crap that had built up and giving a good spray of WD40 and putting back together sorted it right out :clap2:

Did another couple of hours on my electrics this evening. My new radio/CD came late this afternoon, so having read the instructions I ventured out to see if it would work in the car. Nothing's ever simple of course, and it remained stubbornly dead as the previous owners have done quite a lot of unorthodox rewiring. With circuit tester and multimeter I managed at last to get it working by pulling the pins out of a multiplug and putting them back in different holes. Only blew one fuse. Now I've discovered that whilst the passenger side speaker is nice and clear (after I located its wires and reconnected it) the speaker in the driver's footwell gives a lot of distortion. So I've ordered another.

I did pretty much the same also, with a similar result! naffed drivers speaker!

what engine is it?

2.25 derv, had top end rebuild after timing chain went wrong and smashed all push rods up, recon injectors and pump. Did all the timing but still cannot get the smoke down, not using any oil or anything, just smokes like a bugger underload. Clear tickover!

Right O,

Today I had to make a mount for the trialers fuel tank and battery mount:

Frame in place ready to nail down.

Welding is getting better

Fuel tank mounted in and secured in:

If its not burning oil then obviously its burning too much derv. Try discconecting an injector at a time then testing, may be one is naffed. If not its more that likely the pump. Its running too rich for some reason under load. It may also be one cylinder is not burning right due to a valve, which is a lil harder detect unless you have a compression tester.

I've just stripped down the drivers door to find that the old metal moth has destroyed the window guide. I cant find a replacement on line (tried Flea Bay) has anyone any suggestions where I might get a replacement.

Thanks

Fitted a new water temp sender from our friends "****part" went to do it up and only got it finger tight before it span and refused to tighten....
