Converted from hardtop to truck cab and my old man built me a bespoke swing away wheel carrier, which was rather good of him:D

fixed (read bodged) a few niggling problems with the disco today. The pin for the rear door stay has rusted away alot, which given there is little rust anywhere else is annoying, but there was nothing keeping the door stay on the pin. 30 seconds later and with the aid of a lump hammer, there is a nice shiney 17mm nut to hold it in place :D

also the drivers side washer jet was clogged up, so I removed it and plugged it into my bike track pump. took 100psi roughly to clear the crap out of it. works a treat now!

which unfortunate bit of machinery is now missing that.:D
We has a very good relationship with local fabricators. Where they let us raid their skip everytime we need some metal. Have got a decent stack of "bits" some as big as 6ft by 8". but most around 12" to 24" in size, of varying thicknesses from 1.0mm to 10mm thick. they are a godsend at times like this. We've even had a set of steel shelves out of their skip. That they were throwing away. :)

Put a bit of business their way and always offer to pay for what we rummage out their skip.....they always say 'don't worry' :)

Mind you we might be better of welding the skip to the underside of Pikeys Landy....

Nice.

My bro worked at a fabricators so it used to be easy for me to get 'stuff' too .. he made my fence and got me the steel for me rocksliders/sills, but he's now been made redundant and is working as a gardener .. can't see me needing flower seeds anytime soon!
