Friendly MOT tester, lol.

De-Cat is in the back ready to go on.

It's not part of the MOT! Egr and cats aren't tested on diesels. It's just the old fashioned smoke test. It may change in the future who knows but for now it'll pass, just like my td5 did

:D:D:D:D

mines good too.
we talked for half hour about his two "super rods" parked outside the mot bay, then he got in the pit, saw what a magnifcent old landy I have,
checked headlights & stuff,
and said what a good boy I am..

Sorted, as we ex lundunas say, eh..

Finished washing the plains out of the inside from Debbie's laning, and just received my service kit, just waiting for the oil to turn up and the rain to stop

Yup, used to be an mot tester, on petrols it's a requirement to have a cat and they have to have a visual check as well as emissions, egr as long as it doesn't effect the emissions on a petrol don't come into it. On a diesel it doesn't matter a toss as long as it goes thru the smoke test! Until some euro idiot changes things:(

just realised my mot ran out yesterday... oops..

booked in for tmoz... expecting fail....

so today i put my road tyres back on, welded the rear anti roll bar mount back into the holes in the chassis it left when it ripped off under dislocation.. left the arb off though..

welded some plates onto the ends of the original front bumper as the end caps have fell off and they looked a bit sharp.

nothing i can do right now about the leaking fuel pump, or the big hole in the floor where the front seat belt mount is, or the oil leak from behind the lift pump cos i cant find the spare gasket i put somewhere safe...

might as well get my fail sheet and get it all done at once.

Fitted me noo snorkel and painted me noo (old) Tub cappings, ready to be put on the 110. Anyone wanna come and count the rivets as they drill em all out for me. :D

Got a new handbrake cable put on today. The mechanic was moaning about how hard it was to get the brake drum off and that the handbrakes with the rod on it was better. :)

Found out what was making my 200tdi 90 sound like a steam train, it started to run like a bag of ****e missfiring & smoking more than trotters van!
I removed the wading plug from my timing case and was greeted by some v.muddy water which must off got sucked in when I sunk it at Rothwell last month!

Heres some pics of what I found

The tensioner had seized solid, and melted  the belt was v.slack but still intact, I was suprised it made it to work & back the day before.
A new belt kit was fitted along with varius gaskets, water pump and some fresh coolant. It now runs better than ever and has taught me a lesson!
Im going to do the belt on my other 90 just for piece of mind :)
