cant borrow an impact wrench from anyone?
failing that put a tommy bar and bit of tube on it put under medium pressure and hit the top of the tommy bar (on the socket join) with a good hammer .
has worked for me a numerous occations ;)

i have an impact wrench, but no air or power :(.
am going to try the tommy bar and scaff pole tomoz.
Its under the car so space is limited.
spent over half an hour on it today (after 4 days flooding in WD40) and moved the bolt thru 30degrees :rolleyes: (and felt exhausted :rolleyes:)

is it the 2 bolts that hold the ball joint in place?
 
nope - its one of the two bolts that hold the A frame to the chassis - 25mm bolts with 28mm nut!
I can turn the bolt without a spanner on the nut, but the nut seems siezed - i wire brushed it to try and remove as much crud as poss and as said - flooded it in WD40.
It is moving - but it takes all my effort to get it to move a ridiculously small amount.
 
Is that the new style of lights with the plug fitting?

No...old style ones - but might have to replace the entire repeater units as mechanic not sure about sourcing the old lens.

I take it you have tried tightening it as well? (not wanting to teach granny....:))

Cut the nut off next to the mount, with a hacksaw (upside-down with the blade pointing toward the hacksaw spine) the bolts are cheap enough. You only get a couple of inch movement and it takes time:( or get a gas axe on it:D

no gas axe - or a cutting disc at the mo - thats why I am looking to get a genny.
 
cant you get a blowlamp on it ? any heat should help .
but as said hacksaw the fooker not worth the greif!
 
not today but on saturday,
took out halfshafts, one mullered,removed diff and then the chunk of halfshaft inside it!!
just need to order the parts now!!
oh, also insurance time again, £88.96 bargain!!!

series 2a, 2.25 diesel, 1971, tax exempt, standard, put the mileage limit at 8000 which is ample for me! genuine value of £2000 which i think is fair, might even be too low, i'm 25 but couldn't use my no claims bonus as there on my car, so this policy only has 1yr no claims,
it was with 'sureterm' not heard of them before, seems ok though!!

- looks like its a hacksaw jobby :(.

One bit of good noos tho - managed to remove rear shock absorber by using an exhaust clamp around the body to lock it solid whilst undoing the bottom nut :D.
