Quite an easy jobs once you get past the thought of pulling the haft shafts out.
Had mine done in a couple of hours.

didn't realise the halfshafts have to come out. knew the drive flange would come off/out. does this mean I need some topup oil for my axle? or can it be done without loosing oil out the axle?
just want to be prepared with any extras I may need before getting myself stranded at work just due to sorting my brakes out

I just changed my seized rear door latch. I can put the dog guard back on now as I no longer have to kick the door open from the inside.:)

Got my new tank and whatnot in and set about changing it. I got one bolt off after much effort, a black eye from a flying spanner, and found that the back end of my chassis is totally rusted through :(

On the rear axle the drive flange is part of the haftshafts.
Once the wheels are off the first job is to pull the shafts out,
unbolt the caliper,
then remove the hub/bearing nut and pull the hub/disc off in one,
seperate the disc from the hub (if you have ABS you'll need to remove the ABS ring from inside the disc),
then replace in the same order.

You wont loose any oil as it stays in the bottom of the axle case.

I can't remember what the torc setting is for the hub nut, but if you do it up good and tight to seat the bearings, then back if off until the hub turns freely you should be about right.

Be warned the hub/disc don't always separate easily, sometimes they need heat and a good bashing (putting the hub back into the wheel will keep things steady while you do this).

Remember to use either new flange seals or some sealant.

Made the front ns windscreen pillar bit today for the role cage. Quite a complicated bit as you've got a get all the angles right to flow with the car. Going to try to get some of the middle roof bars done now

Fitted new led spotlights to the front bumper and stuck new defender bonnet badge on.

Yesterday i fitted my new Terrafirma +2" lift kit with dislocation cones to the rear and the car has been transformed, here are some pic's

Today I washed my car, even cleaned the windows inside... That's when the rear view mirror fell off and refuses to go back on! FFS!! There looks to be a small spring and catch that holds it in place and the spring is solid, I'm not sure how the mirror has stayed on this long. Trip to Paddock tomorrow. It doesn't pay to clean your Landy :(

Thanks 5tox
Got the 2 roof triangles finished today. Would of got Moor done but got distracted with my new oxy/propane torch. Cuts through 12mm steel plate like butter
