Which was a t series as in a rover 420 or 820

Rover T-Series engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Only real issues were "o"ring in head gasket at 100k done loads and the map sensor in ecu used to go funny occasionally-there was a vapour trap available.

If you want more power then you need the uprated pg1 gearbox and turbo lump

So it was / is a reliable lump - thanks for this. food for thought. Guess I should check in with the Disco forum.

It's a reliable lump. Pg1 gearbox is from rover and is used in the freelander not the discovery. The turbo is a good powerful lump. Problem is the disco is twice the weight of the cars it was designed for so it's a bit gutless due to lack of low down torque.

Fitted a new radio today. No adapter for the harness required oddly as it had a standard one in o_O thought they all needed BMW converters. Oh Well, saves me a handful of cash. Downside is it wont come on without the key in like the old one.

Not seen these LED's, where do you get them - I think the heating panel is lit by 2 bulbs in back, from memory. Tx.
You're absolutely right and I tried using an LED but it doesn't give the spread of light needed. Not enough space to fit more than the single ones either...
:(

Well Sadly this is what I have done to mine... hit black ice and slid right into a curb and re-arranged the front end.. who needs the wheel to be attached anyways? haha.

So, the markers on the knobs are as bright as they are gonna be? Still prefer to the Tippex originals.

One of these was on eBay and went for a tenner earlier today. Nearly bid myself as my passenger side heated seat has packed up…

Yep that was me:) have you checked for loose plugs under the seat. I hear that they can come loose from the relay.

Guessing you got yerself a bargain against main dealer price on that then!

Not got round to having a proper investigate yet, always seems to be raining when I want to go and do something on the car!

For reference, is an easy enough task to replace one?

Just bust me bloody wing mirror. Some #### driving in the middle of the road clipped it. Ordered a new un from fleabay for about 9 quid. Could ave been worse, at least it was only the glass eh?
Update.
Mirror came from fleabay so removed broken one from mirror assembly, spent about half an hour removing bits of old glass and sticky backing, so nice clean heater pad to stick to now. New mirror fitted, not bad, although it's about 2 millimetres smaller than old one so a 1 mill gap all around the plastic holder. Still, it's better than the bust one eh? And only £9.00. :)

well thanks to this forum and a little bit of other internet hunting, I have just replaced the master/slave clutch cylinders. notan ideal job for new years eve lol but with a couple of pairs of hands and a single flat bladed screwdriver (to release the pedal) it took just an hour to get the whole thing up and running again! Remarkably easy and i am very chuffed as i am not mechanical at all!

Topped up the windscreen was bottle - again.

I'm using about a litre every day at the moment with all the salt, frost, ice and wet on the roads up here at the North Pole, sorry Scotland.
