finaly got around to fitting the bonnet/hood protector-deflector that i'd bought last summer ..
well worth it .. .. saw the modified airstream in action courtesy of some falling snow :)
looking forward to a bug-free windscreen when spring/summer arives ..
.. nice unexpected byproduct be somewhat less overall windnoise-at-speed ..

mine's tinted .. weren't no clear ones on offer from the u.k. retailer ..
at first i thought looks-wise it were a-blot-on-the-landscape ..
got used to it now :) .. 'n pay no mind ..
my hippo1 be a facelift .. 'n i think the front end is sort of ugly anyway ..
but practical as far as intercooler-airscoop-cum-bumper things go ..
.. don't have to look at it when driving :)

~~~~~~~
i've a dash cam .. 'n thought maybe the video of snowflakes-in-airstream might have been of interest .. but the video didn't show what i could see :-(
didn't even show it when i tried editing it to slow-motion ..
showed a bunch of glittering snow .. but the airstream motion was lost ..
in essence .. the snowflakes hit the deflected airstream 'n shot over the roof ..
should have mentioned it be a no-drilling-needed type fitting
Repaired my blower switch.
1, 5min removing 2x screws
2, removed switch
3, 15min drive to mates house to solder new resistors
4, 15min drive back,
5, 5min re-screwing 2x screws repair done all working nicely.
Total repair time 40min. Cost £6.78 for new resistors from respak. Advice taken from this forum on how to do repair :):):):):):):):):):):)
quote from local garage for repair £67:eek::eek:
Forgot to say mate took 20 min to solder so 60min in total for repair.
Fair play fella!! But you paid HOW MUCH!!! For some resistors
If you or any one else on Lz want electrical components give me a shout, could have got you a couple of resistors, depending on type for pennies
after new rear/right side break cylinder and almost 1,5lts of new DOT4 in the system, took it to the country-side
Managed to get a glimpse of it through the window of the garage as I dropped off their knackered courtesy car...
Taped up the intercooler hose wth gaffer tape and ordered a new one. With postage 35 euros ordered here in France or from UK with postage 21 euros. Spares are stupidly expensive here.
