Fitted a new rear output flange and seal. No leaks from the old one, but not that much of a job to replace it. Front one to do next, plus replace the handbrake shoes and springs for good measure.

Hi,could you let me know how it goes with the front seal/flange & handbrake shoe replacement please as they are two more jobs on the list for me. Did you use the Nok seals as there the ones I got after hearing of size issues with other makes, apart from genuine.

Meaning the front fogs.. they do still work but that’s on the to do list when spare cash allows, reflector inside is knackered so gonna get new units.

I bought a cheap set, as mine were just knackered, and would fail the MOT. They work, look good, but the beam pattern isnt perfect.

That’s not bad price! Are they easy to swap? Look like they just clip in? Mines due mot this next couple of weeks, but had passed before with them lights, but they do need doing.

The units themselves are simple to fit.. Only issue I had was getting the front 1/4 bumpers off. My screws were rusted in solid, and had to drill round them, and fit washers when refitting new screws.

Would think mine will be the same, need to do the watts linkage but definitely using new bolts, looking at them they won’t come out without a fight.

I looked at my linkage whilst under the Disco yesterday, looked a little knarly... started feeding the bolts with Plus-gas. Will carry on until I decide to replace it.

Ignore me I'm losing the plot,o_O it was the front drive shaft oil seals which sierrafery said use the genuine or Nok ones (which I've still got to do). I've still got to do my transfer box front seal/ flange & the h/brake shoes if you could still let me know if it's a pig of a job, cheers.

Not a pig of a job, but drum brakes can be a bit of a faff. It sounds silly, but make sure you press the T'box seal in the right way around.

Recently fitted a fbh over ride remote which iv only tested after fitting.
Used it this morning in the frost to warm the engine and car up.......nice.

I replaced the F/N/S drive shaft seal, and wheel bearing a while ago. Used genuine LR part. Seal gave up in about a month, with just as much oil splashing about. Waiting for a time I can be arsed to strip it down again, and take a look at the shafts, to see if they have shredded the lips.If so, ill have to buy some new half shafts...

Im going to replace the upper and lower steering joints whilst I have the corner in bits for new Deplhi ones. Ive got the removal clamp kit, but from reading posts, its a pig of a job...

Uploaded stage1 map successfully by using my Nanocom (got from Storm tuning). The car runs fine, better responsiveness under 2000rpm. I still need to improve turbo pressure.

Are they generic, of is it specific to your current spec.. what I'm asking is will a copy work on another td5 ?

I guess specific. I have sent current map with nanocom and ECU data to Stormtuning and i got the new map after. It is vin and nanocom specific.
The car runs great! No black smoke, pulls from 1800rpm even on climb in 5th gear. I am satisfied so far:)
I have just adjusted actuator rod (recommended by Dan from Storm based on my live data) and i have 1.35 bar turbo pressure which makes the car even better.
