Less what I did with the P38.. more what it’s done to itself.

Won’t go into low range anymore. Last used it over the Easter weekend, then I’ve just been commuting since with it. Thought I’d take a greenlane home today and it just beeps at me.. great 👍

Could be the ratio motor. You can take it off and turn yhe triangular shaft by hand a few times and check the plug for corrosion at the same time.

You don't find leaks via the machine. All that should be doing is putting dye in, and pressurising the system. Then use a decent UV torch to find the leak(s). Now you've got gas in there (and hopefully dye), get a UV torch on amazon or eBay, have a good look around one evening & light is a bit dimmer.

Check what other said in the other thread - - i.e. probably the condenser. Could be down the sides where you cannot see easily it easily.

Also check behind the compressor pulley around the shaft. Mine leaked out around the shaft, but was invisible until I was sorting the clutch shims out.

+1 on condenser. Bottom left corner.

The ZF 6-speed.

I had the gearbox serviced in June last year. Could it need servicing again?

Depends how they did it. It is hard to get all the fluid out the first time unless you flush it.

Sometimes fresh fluid shows up wear as it flushes out the material that has been masking the problem. @Bemble is the expert on these boxes. I'd wait and see what he thinks.

Entirely depends upon the model and how attentive the owner is to clearing out leaves and muck from the air intakes....
Most of the one's I've replaced have been bottom left, occasionally bottom right on L322's due to roadsalt induced corrosion, foreign object impact can of course, be anywhere a stone etc. can hit at a reasonable lick of speed.

coming home last night and got a really loud hum/drum from what i assume is the front tyre/s.. comes on like a switch at exactly 70mph.. then goes away completely where you slow down.. tyres look perfectly fine
sounds like cheap and nasty cross ply mud tyres, but they just make more noise the faster you go
wondered if it was something vibrating as wind flow increases but everything seems tight, eg underbody trays

what else should i be checking for?

When that happened on my Transit, it was the top windscreen trim had come just slightly loose, made loud hum any speed over 60mph.

thanks.. i've just found the plastic radiator grille was loose so i've temp fixed that
the plastic scuttle plastic cover is also loose on one side but i can't see how it is supposed to attach.. if its a broken clip/s then that coincides with a new screen fitted on tuesday, i've not driven much since then

when we had a screen done on a l322 they fitted new plastic bits as the guy said the clips always break

No new bits. But I've noticed the passenger side A pillar trim wasn't clipped in place and doesn't seem secure when i clipped it back.. it's been off to many times
