just been out.. its 5c.. just noticed the glow plug light didnt come on
do they only work below a certain temp? or does the light only come on to say the plugs are on.. ie.. plugs arent working so light not coming on? if thats the case, should there be an error code?
you know me by now.. totally paranoid i'm one step away from a pile of scrapI dont really look but have seen it a few times, but it never stays on for long, a few seconds. But I do notice in the colder temps that the time between stabbing the button and the cranking can have a small delay. The light maybe on at this time but I am usually putting on the seatbelt.

i've seen the light a number of times and it waits to go out before starting, ie the delay you mention. after collecting from garage the other day, noticed lumpy for a few seconds after a cold start, so i went to check it now.. light doesnt come on, volts confirm the plugs arent lit
didnt start as not going anywhere
i stabbed, without footonbrake thats caused it to light previouslyLet me look see If I can find anything.
Maybe it wont "glow" if you dont stab the button. Why waste battery if you are only going to get something out of the car.

just read.. it wont light if ots only a short 'glow' time presumably you dont need to know your car is operating properly
Better for MOT to just insert blanking plates, but keep the EGR. I did it on an 04 Focus few years ago, and no fault codes so all good. It definitely ran better.
On my diesel ford, the plugs run (no warning light but interior lights dimmer and heater fan slow) for up to 20s or so, then hear the relay kick out and I start it. I understand they continue to run after start for a time to aid warm up and emissions? Only ever seen the glow warning for up to 10s when it is really cold soaked, several days non use in sub zero temperature.just been out.. its 5c.. just noticed the glow plug light didnt come on

Well it took 2 days, is holding it's charge, I haven't put it back on yet, might do it at the weekendI don't 6v is recoverable
Good luck!! Keep an eye on it.. least summer is on the wayWell it took 2 days, is holding it's charge, I haven't put it back on yet, might do it at the weekend
Unlikely as it was definitely working before it went to get the tensioner pulley replaced and some air coolant hose or other.. winner of something has not been clipped back properly? That or the controller has failed very common on a lot of cars too, Mercedes & BMW used to strike the glow plugs up when on boost too to aid with the burn apparently although the concept seems slightly counterintuitive after an intercooler. I know, air and fuel, two different things (before anybody starts)
Silly check - fuses and relays for glow plugs are good?Unlikely as it was definitely working before it went to get the tensioner pulley replaced and some air coolant hose or other.. winner of something has not been clipped back properly?
Didn't see a specific glow plug fuse but the engine related ones seemed ok. Do you know which relays i should be looking at? Nothing looked out of placeSilly check - fuses and relays for glow plugs are good?
Just found this.. anyone know where it's located?Didn't see a specific glow plug fuse but the engine related ones seemed ok. Do you know which relays i should be looking at? Nothing looked out of place
