Funny how a lot of us don't think of them as normal cars. I use mine as a daily driver, but the furthest I've taken it is Anglesey, 100 miles. Use the much newer Audi for long trips, even though that needed a new auto gearbox with less than 30K on the clock, thankfully it was under warranty.
Got her in the garage for a new FIP (turns out it was more than just a leaky seal), and got a phone call from Land Rover to tell me it needs recall A255 carrying out, something to do with risk of overheat without it. So need to get it booked in with LR to have that done.
Drove to the bank to pay some cheques in, parked in the Morisson's car park. So bought a huge steak for my tea to make it legit use of the facilities.
So far the new Rangie is working fine on local hops, it is very quiet, smooth and comfy. But I will drive to Oxford for my son's wedding tomorrow in the crappy Citroen because the Lemon/Rangie is as yet unproven on a long run.
It may only have 13K on the clock but I don't trust it yet and this is an important journey for the family.

Mine's been back and forth to Czech Republic several times without issue touch wood. I do have a top notch, cast iron breakdown cover though!
Use mine for long trips all the time. Just done a 600 mile round trip. Mind you, that's a walk in the park compared to where @ovalandrover goes.
Breakdown cover?! Live a little. That tingling fear of whether you're going to make it or not is where the excitement comes from.

Usually that's twitching like a rabbits nose when you realise you're a bit further off-road than you meant to be, there's a large drop, you're on road-tyres and you realise there's no roll cage.

No pics yet, but suffice to say, the indicators now sport warm sidelights (as opposed to super bright LED's) and when you indicate, you get a bright orange flasher. It works by cancelling the sidelight on the indicating side while the flasher is going. A second or two after you cancel the indicator, it pops back on and i have to say, in the clear lens it looks the tits
I'm thinking on wiring them into the DRL relay and removing the small DRL's (the little yellow flash on each headlamp) as the wires are so fine they keep breaking
Also got my rear lens guards dipped to match the fronts so she's looking a million dollars

Took a drive along the A77 , by the time I got past Ayr I had to pull over and take a look at the Golden Girl. In just over 30 miles 3 twonks had pulled straight out in front of me. So was having a look to see if she had a cloak of invisibility on. She still looked like a great big f off range rover to me!
Had half an hour spare so fitted a new surround/seal to the lower tailgate push button on my Vogue.
Not a big job, the old one was perished and leaking water into the shell of the tailgate.
ALR5252 - couple of quid or so.

Got stuck in the sand in Portugal and had to be towed out by a man with a tractor. It's good to know people are still willing to lend a hand and help out a fellow ape when you're in trouble.
Also, I think it's the first time I've ever accessed the "extended ride height" function that comes in when you're grounded. It didn't help, but at least I can tick that one off the list!

Got round to spraying the insides of the lower tailgate with dinitrol, had most of a spray can left over from doing the underside so gave it a good dose. Thats the last of the rustproofing done (yeah right), hopefully protected my investment.
