So my new tail light came for it 370 quid later but il feel better 😅

Oddly enough a guy has just started working at my place who used to work for a factory that made headlights for Land Rover. They've laid off over ten people, not because there's no demand but they cannot get the components to assemble the lights - it is all stuck on docks waiting to be cleared and payong a f@cling fortune to be stored in the meantime - Brexit, apparently.

Everything gets blamed on Brexit, mostly it's not true.

Insurers don't care about different models of range rover, but they seem to care about differences in a fiesta or golf.
It's not right that a l322 with no keyless entry is treated the same as an l405 that's a lot more insecure

Had anyone tried 3rd party only insurance, is it even still a thing?
Had that argument with my insurance, they said “oh it’s a Range Rover they get stolen” I said yeah but that’s the l405s, another insurer said “does it have keyless” I said no it’s 2006 so needs a key there reply “ok no probs as we’re not insuring any with keyless”

I'm afraid it mostly is true.
It's cost us a fortune and where we used to send stuff all over the eu next day for not much more than next door, it's now 3-5 days minimum and that's if the customer at the other end is on the ball and pays quickly.
We had a box of parts worth 30k that the customer didn't get notification to pay for. Courier sent it back and lost it. We got about 200 quid back.

Christmas prezzies from the missus, she knows me too well.

No problem getting stuff from China though.

Been over to my mums with prezzies and wish her Merry Christmas. Taken her a Christmas dinner down(home cooked not frozen). My youngest brother going down later to warm it up and serve it.
Now back home and finishing dinner of and enjoying a well earned drink. :) :) Merry Christmas everyone:mexicanwave:

No but then there is no change there due to brexit, it is business as usual. It still takes a few days and costly shipping from China whereas I used to be able to spend 20s online to book a box to czech/poland/france/Germany/Netherlands etc etc etc and it was collected from us at 2pm and at the customer's door at 3pm the next day virtually guaranteed.
Now it's at least 4 days most often and sometimes 8 days or more, three times the price and about 20% of shipments go missing. Brexit has properly ****ed us over so don't ever try and convince me it was a good idea.

Some of these shipping delays are due to new EU restrictions not directly related to Brexit, getting stuff from the USA is now a PITA for example but BREXIT is a convenient hook on which to hang problems. It's going to get worse with the EU introduction of EES and ETIAS systems.

I replaced the Headlight lenses on my facelift L322 a couple of days ago. You know the phrase "How hard can it be?"

Up to 2009 and they are held on with Butyl and you just bake them in the oven to soften it and pull the lenses off. 2010> cars have the lenses stuck in with Sikaflex Buh stard's!

Quite the difference.

Pleased I've done it and if you've seen my ride height issues in another post, you'll appreciate that I didn't even need to bend down to take this pic as it was almost level with my teeth!

Yes, new eu restrictions because we are no longer part of the club.
Shipping stuff between eu states is still a doddle.

Plastic lenses? I polished them on the Jag and they came up like new.
