Mine was unbelievably slow to start with. Can see why people say they are a slug. Bit of TLC is all they need they weren’t like that leaving the factory.

Exactly i think the modulation makes a lot of difference to the power, as mine was getting slower not that you notice it as its so gradual till i tapped the pump in a bit to take up the chain stretch and whoosh off she goes like a rocket and the sound of that straight 6 is lovely:D

Discovered the MAF and IACV were covered in crud. So cleaned them both.
Cured the source of the smoke - the heat padding and the PVC underseal stuff above the passenger CAT had given way and were resting on it. Ripped all that off and will get the garage to replace when they have him on the ramps for the MOT.
Started him, much smoother and more responsive, quieter. Really shows up the EAS compressor being worn out.
He pumped up OK on all corners (was a bit worried about that after sitting for 5 months), went into low OK and crept eagerly 2 feet back, 4 forward and 2 back again.
Wife will do some inside fettling, and I need to sort the poxy boot release AGAIN! but otherwise he is now MOT ready so take him there Tuesday so they can sort the bits and MOT on Thursday. Unless they get a cancellation and get him in sooner.
Looking forward to pouring some pricy unleaded in there again!

Remembered I had this old bluetooth car kit with music streaming from a previous car so hooked it up to an FM transmitter and it works a treat on the bench.
Pairs up with 2 phones at the same time as well so great for work and private mobile :D

Getting the modulation on the project car spot on made a big difference to performance, starting and engine sound.:D

I’ve had loads of parts of them no problems even replacing wrong parts I had ordered great coms through email for correct parts for my car as well

If you need anything feel free to have it sent to me and I'll drop it in to you next year when I'm passing again :)
That's very kind. However as things stand at the moment, you would likely be stung for duty at the crossing, the French are being very obstructive at the moment. I'm sure it will all settle down in time.

I've heard they are stinging bikers who van their bikes to destination instead of riding

I will:cool:
Going to grind a little off opposite sides, try ,and repeat as necessary so it just slips on.
The joints look drier than the Doris's Xmas turkey so I'm keen to get it done as there is no play in them.
I had to do both sides.
