today i cleaned the car
it has been a while
it was a struggle and gave it just one coat of polish

99.9% there! Short of some jubilee clips for the new pressure sensor!
Not sure I've wired up the fuel gauge properly as it's beeping at me! Nothing about beeps in the manual!!
 
It's the devils fuel lol. Don't even have to run it on diesel either.
Chip pan oil is good. My mate used to run his Jap import Nissan Elgrand 3.2 Diesel on it all the time. Smelt great it did. Local chip shop used to give him his waste 25 litre barrels of it for free. Once filtered through his wife's old tights a couple of times it was fine. Smelt a tad fishy though. LOL. He used to change his fuel filter ever 3 months ( pennies ) and a 10 min job and he was on his way again.

All sorted! Silly me needed to switch from 6 cylinders to 8 cylinders :oops:
6 cylinders? would have worked perfectly on Otto then.

Still struggling with poxy heatshields and access. Steering linkage won't budge. I think it will be getting a die grinder for the Dremel and grinding the buggers off.

On the plus side got the bonnet acoustic padding off to clean - no point getting the engine clean, shiny and working and the first time you shut the bonnet 25 years of dust, dirt and crud rains down over everything.

Yes, heatshields can be binned if you wrap the exhausts. Get someone to waggle the steering wheel while you disconnect the steering linkage.
