Just had a thought, the car ticks over perfect when cold. (revs are slightly higher and presume extra fuel supplied) then as the revs come down it stumbles on tickover then when it warms up tickover is again good. Is it possible that the EGR valve is shut initially ,then opens and then closes again when the engine warms up.I cleaned the valve till it was like new and am wondering if it wasnt working before and now it is. I will disconnect this afternoon and see if it makes any difference

EGR valve should not open on idle. With throttle pot at less than 9% idle speed/fuel are controlled by the ECU subject to signals from the CPS, ECU temp sensor and fuel temp sensor. When started from cold revs will rise initially to around 1100 then as start fuel is reduced by ECU drop after a short time to a steady 750. Check with Nanocom that the idle setting is correct. EDC > Settings > Second page pump calibration. First box should have 8 in it. All others should have 128 in them. Idle value should be 128.

Pull the vacuum pipe off the EGR valve and plug the pipe with an M5 screw. Stops all the crap from the exhaust getting into the engine.
