more..ebay tank insitu, but not mounted etc..

i do like the bmw seats..

thinking of mounting gearbox manual/sport/eco switch here..will be same as coloum switch..

..NOTE that choc block will be going now i have seen it!!

engine bay starting to get busy..

looking for this..i need the lever, its cable handbrake mechanism from disco or rrc using lt230

Supercharged 4.6 with NOS. You Beast !!!

Supper charged and nos, you is nuts mate

whats wrong with that??

..................................

coolents in..oils in....fuel connected....autobox filter in..trying to work out where to mount filter to get cold air in, cos where it is is pants.

Nowt wrong with that mate;) get a vid of that beast up when it's running, looking forward to hearing that purr

starting up....hmmmm..a wee bit of wiring and s/c bypass ports to block, diesel to flush from tank, new filters to install..not much really..

now if i have my daughter over tomorrow then it will be in a week or two..if i dont then hopefully tomoz..(assuming gems ecu does not require serial data fire code from becm..which i thinks it dont, cos if it does then no go..:()..i would rather have my daughter over.

Know where ya coming from, still got to finish egg sauce and then the megasquirt to fit before I can get mine running, hope the bcem don't play silly buggers for you.

thats looking great

im currently fitting a GEMS engine in my 90 and i found this All Car Electrics - Car Electrician covering Sussex, including Brighton, Worthing, Haywards Heath, Lewes, Crawley and Uckfield on the right hand side it talks of a code generator to be fitted into the ecu. may be of use to you

update..

####

looks like gems ecu wont work on own..

sorted starter issues...ie painted it too well..ie no gnd to block!!

got oil pressure..but no sparky..will checkk i plugged in crank sensor etc tomoz after work...but sure i have..

please see alternator post..is gems alternator same as pre gems..ie does warning light crt work in same way. or is alternator totally electronic and not capable of lighting normal warning bulb ..i am aware that becm controls warning light in p38, but that dont mean that alt is any different from classic (internally)..
as is..alt bulb glows dim when ign off!, but goes off totally when ign on..

so no spark...why??checked coils gnd..good..thinking i may be going ms...

How would the gems ECU have coped with the s/c anyway? Or would it just see more air being consumed and adjust fuel accordingly?

If anyone wants a new megasquirt system with built ECU for a 3.9 (everything still in plastic bags/boxes) give me a shout, a mates selling one but Nige should let you change the ECU bits over for a bit extra, has air flow thing etc

mine has it built in on the ms3x

problem i have is the zf24eh....needs engine ecu data...ms????

pm sent doc

Personally I'd have thought a MAP sensor would be a good idea on a boosted motor.

ms works fine with map or now mafm..dont make alot of difference really..

but the issue i has with ms is zf control...dont think i can get ms and bosch to talk to each other..ms do gearbox controler, but as yet dont think anyone done it for zf..just yanky boxes..so a can of worms..

Compushift ?

Just wasn't sure how accurate a MAF would be at high air flow rates.

Plus, quite a restrictive part?

Nobody uses MAF with tuned motors anyway so would be a good chance to get rid.

Perhaps they are better at keeping low rpm emissions in check, not something we are bothered about.

re maf

sally dont use..ms3 uses map..however there are ie nissan very large free flowing mafm about..there is a reason they are used..

re my ecu problems..

going ms2...it will work with bosch autobox controller so i have been told..(by man who designed overfinch ecu's)
will have to get creative with engine torque drop on gear changes, but i recon can use nos retard ignition on ms for this..ie gearbox requests torque drop, ms retards ign to 1 or 2 degress btdc via nos input..now to find out how bosch ecu requests torque drop..it uses single wire for request..it could be as simple as going to gnd etc..(thoug it could be data)

couple of things

have been entertaining my mind about building a similar motor to yours albeit a 3.5 block

anyway i assume yours is 9.35 CR? are you not concerned by that at all?

and does it has standard cam? do you have an opinion on that? i dont know what to think you see.

cheers :)

sally runs 10.5:1 and 10psi boost..so 9.35 is childsplay..so not an issue, would be happier if it were 10+:1..

and no it aint got standard cam..new kent 180 dialed in, new rockers shimmed etc

why use 3,5??tuners seem to be thinking now weakness in large bore blocks is down to lr running too lean and too hot to get car though emmisions and get some mpg..
so running proper map with wb sensor, 74 stat and bigger rad should keep it safe..(along with feck off oil cooler etc)
