Carbon fibre bonnet? Bit bling but all the mods make em heavier so it makes sense to shed a few pounds so we can show up the fenders!

Found this on another forum.

Looks very easy - or is it?

Singvogel.

WTF, that looks like mine!? It is mine!!!

it is 3mm steel "zinkplated" (no salt on portuguese roads so rust is not a major problem round here), riveted on the original sump frame, the curve was made hammering it over a big steel pipe. here is a pic more from the side

Ah fair enough 3mm steel would do :).

I've managed to find a Freelander bonnet cheap in Derby, so I may well mosy on over and pick it up. It'd take a mould from it and then I could muck about with carbon fibre bonnets, light pods and stuff. Hell even completely sexed up bowler style with integrated pod and scoops :D!

I have the moulds already for bonnets and have 5 already made. Along with light pods, snorkels and tailgates. I'll be offering rollcages , both DIY bolt in kits for home installation and fully space framed style weld in cages. Also 2" lift kits
Anyone who wants pics can contact me via this forum, leave their email address and Ill get pics off to them.
In the coming months I'll be resurrecting Freelanderstorm.co.uk as I have bought all the rites from them to start producing this stuff again.
I'm also interested in hearing what people want for their Freelander so I can see what may be viable to produce. I do work full time so this will be a sideline and prices will be kept as low as possible.
I may also be looking at producing a winch mount for behind the bumper.

I'm liking very much

It's the bonnet light pods that caught my eye on an accessory site.
However the price was a little steep.... Possibly me being a little wet round the
ears, that remains to be seen :) .... In most cases Id rather see my hard earned cash
go in to another members pocket , that way I know it's money well spent ....

I've been having trouble posting images ( error message ) which is why I asked anyone interested to contact me via the forum and leave their email address.
However, I think I've cracked it now, so I'll try a few pics to make sure.

Ian, that's friggin sweet! Pretty much what we were planning! We've driften into other projects now and I'm glad to see someone has followed through!

Let us know if they go up for sale anytime soon :).

Do you do that snorkel for a TD4, also whats that on the roof of the silver one? :)

There was one of those roofs on eBay a while ago, it was called a high top Commercial one? It just had a bit more head room and looked kinda funky:D

Those parts look good RealBeale, nice to see a snorkel with a bit of style.

If fitting a fibreglass bonnet then bonnet pins should be fitted.
