Everything looks to be lining up to me too. Crackin job setting that up
I'd say an early 200Tdi bulkhead or maybe earlier than that. Fuel filter on rear of bulkhead and I can't see any holes for light switches on the A posts. Interior light door switches didn't come in until the later 200Tdi's IIRC.
I'm not sure, but does the TD5 bulkhead have to have the tunnel cut out a bit to make it fit the Tdi engine gearbox? Seem to remember reading that somewhere

Well a bit further forward on the Bulkhead, Its defiantly not TD5, Photo 1 is plug that's on it, wires cut off end, 2 is end of my Chassis Loom, 3 is chassis loom plugged in to bulkhead all different fittings matched up even wire colours couldn't find anything for plug on the right. I also have the Original bulkhead loom , the plugs for the dash bit that shows all warning lights also its on the Red bulkhead too, and fuse box is the same, So what Bulkhead could it be, my defender is 1987 110 CSW.

This was my suggestion.
Did the original owner indicate that the parts came from a range of vehicles?

I would say 90 percent of parts are Original He said the original bulkead and engine were completely knackered so really the only different parts I got with it were 300tdi engine and this bulkhead, I have all the other bits and pieces in another shed, all panels, engine bay bits , radiator ect. and the original bulkhead loom.
Just looked at logbook and original engine was 2495cc

Yeah, as a 1987 it would have been a 2.5 litre turbo. You've got a few more, nice to have, horses with the 300Tdi ;)

Yes much better engine. I am hoping every other plug I find along the way just joins up, Dreading all this electric stuff to come.

Apart from the fuses, the wiring looks the same as what I removed from my 200tdi.

Hmmm, shouldn't be too many differences. Did all 300Tdi's have an EGR valve fitted and a throttle position sensor on the FIP? I presume you'll be blanking off the EGR, or have you already done that?

Please forgive me Mate I don't know what an EGR is:eek: I know that's Bad isn't it but as I said from the start Im just new to all this stuff, but I Honestly couldn't have got this far without help from this Forum.
Anyway Im sure Ill find it along the way though.

Ahh, sorry, no problem. It's an Exhaust Gas Re-Circulation Valve. It allows a controlled amount of exhaust gases back in to the air inlet manifold. This has the affect of reducing combustion temperature. The reduced temperature of combustion creates less nitrogen oxide out of the exhaust.
It's popular to remove them as feeding exhaust gases in to the air intake does narf mess it up. Recent laws now state that if your vehicle was fitted with an EGR valve during production, then it needs to be present for the MOT. In reality, many Landys are passing without them. Being a 1987 vehicle I'd presume yours wouldn't need one for the MOT. It's got an electrical connection and there's a feed from a basic sensor on top of the fuel injection pump. Your harness won't have them and so you wouldn't be able to have a working EGR valve. In which case remove it and buy a blanking off kit, there just a few quid. I'll see if I can find a link to someone removing the EGR.

Here you go. This has before and after pictures so you can see what it looks like and the oval blanking plate you're left with when you take it off. LINKY

EDIT
By the way, IMHO the claims of massive power increase etc, in this thread, are exaggerated and not condoned by me. :)

Just Googled it. That's another way I learn things, Am I right in thinking mines been removed

This must be mine here then.

Think the engine loom plug to bulkhead will be diffent.
If you still have the old engine remove the loom for later use.
Think the alternator cable size could differ in size.

Some more pics of my 300tdi-LT77 combination that may give you some idea where the engine sits in relation to the bulkhead and steering box.
As far as I can see, your engine is in the standard 200tdi, 2.5 N/A location, if the gear-box uses standard LT77 mounts, and the engine is level, it is the only place it can be.
Your turbo should be very close to the passenger foot-well, the small pipe at the rear should touch unless modified.
I see that you have a TD5 engine cross-member, this should make routing the exhaust a little easier.
I still think that a four-bolt PAS-box will cure your problems and allow you to retain the viscous fan.

A Mate of mine has a 4 bolt, when I get it will give it a go, looking at your photos Im sure it will do the job.
