No!Depends on how high you set it, dunnit?
We tried it in the past. It lasted for about a week.
Sounds a good idea, but doesn’t work in practice.

I'd agree with that. What are you going to say to a new member when they call for some help? Sorry, you'll have to sit on top of that mountain until you've made 25 or however many "constructive" posts before anybody can turn outNo!

And what constructive posts is a crv driver to make??I'd agree with that. What are you going to say to a new member when they call for some help? Sorry, you'll have to sit on top of that mountain until you've made 25 or however many "constructive" posts before anybody can turn out
And what constructive posts is a crv driver to make??
It is voluntary and as no one is forced into any situation it seems to work OK
And what constructive posts is a crv driver to make??
I can just see the headlines now .Would have thought that was the idea. Weed out people that want to be rescued, but don't want to put anything in.
Obviously, they wouldn't be able to do the posts, so no rescue.
It ain't gonna happen though is it. I'm not coming to rescue you until you've answered 25 questions on a vehicle you don't own and I don't care what the weather's like or how dark it's getting......Perhaps , as harsh as it sounds , that should be a parameter for getting help from LZIR? is it a LR vehicle involved?
Cheers
I can just see the headlines now .
“Landrover forum allowed mum and child to die, due to low post count”.
If you want that responsibility - great.
Yes they are.No-one is responsible for “sending people out and they came back with damage or injury “

Don’t go thenYes they are.
The Read before posting thread could possibly do with a review from a brief. I'd be surprised if it holds any water if/when tested.
Finally, should we have even helped the OP? He was on dodgy land with very questionable permission to be there and now turns out is not insured. Not a problem for private land but why are we rocking up for this sort of thing. Im also really disappointed to hear that as well as the damage and injury, which is bad enough, that Allen is out of pocket to his mate.
See revisions above. Not difficult to see the circumstances different. Dont want to be attacking but you are being very naive about this.I can just see the headlines now .
“Landrover forum allowed brian and allen to die, due to eagerness to rescue uninured geezer nobody knew".
If you want that responsibility - great.

I didnt. But I considered it when there were members on here in trouble. Trouble they wouldn't have been in if they hadn't rushed to the aid of someone they shouldn't have helped. What was the rush? Why are we even considering helping people we don't know? The professionals are there for strangers.LZIR might be better suited for LZers. Is that talking out of turn?Don’t go then
its not the forums responsibility to rescue folks so that headline would never occur, a member suffering injury or worse whilst have been asked to volunteer might produce a headline thoughI can just see the headlines now .

Nope. A valid point.I didnt. But I considered it when there were members on here in trouble. Trouble they wouldn't have been in if they hadn't rushed to the aid of someone they shouldn't have helped. you are stating opinion as fact.its not the forums responsibility to rescue folks so that headline would never occur, a member suffering injury or worse whilst have been asked to volunteer might produce a headline though
A minute ago it wasn't the responsibility of the forum if a rescuer gets hurt recovering an un-insured vehicle. Now it is the responsibility of the forum if someone doesn't get rescued.
Which way do you want it?
