That's your favourite CD and you know it :D

Looking good mate. Where did you get front plate made up by the way? And is legal font size etc etc. That's exactly what I want, but a half arsed google the other night didn't reveal much.

That's an import/Japanese front plate cut down to a motorbike size

Import and bikes share the same size letters

You can't officially get motorbike front plates hence the cut down import size

You probably can get one online though

But yeah that's your answer :)

Oh and it's not exactly legal on official numberplate rules but it passes my partially relaxed mot without even a slapped wrist, and ive never been stopped in my landy so couldn't tell you otherwise

But I bet you won't get in trouble

It's a UK legal letter size on some vehicles so that's close enough to fully legal for me

Epic so so epic dude. Some many bits about it I love though one of my favourite has to be the massive bank of switches on the dash. Bloody brilliant!

Mr noisy I ve been following your posts all them yeRs and I have now defender and toying with idea of selling the defender and switch back to discovery. Mmmm lol

Defenders make great machines as do discoveries.

What defenders lack in size and weight they make up for in ability, and vice versa.

Well...

It's a long story but the short version is im kinda hankering over some larger tyres

Or at least some days I am some days I'm not

I really don't want to spoil the drive characteristics too much but have to face facts that these tyres aren't realistically tall enough

Have set eyes on some Maxxis creepies at 37x14.50x15 which I think are suitably ludicrously sized for my vehicle

They do only stand at 35.5" but then again my current 33s aren't much over 31" true

We do not want to lift the body or the suspension as that's a very easy way to make a car ****, so the only option is tubbing

It really won't be THAT difficult but it will probably not be possible as a 5 door so part of the job will be to replace with 3 door panels and modify her accordingly

First port of call is to actually check out one of these tyres in person at Donny show in April and give them some tape measuring to see how they size up

So watch this space!

Yeah I mean I'm not holding my breath until I see them in person

They say they stand around 13" wide but this might be unmounted

Either way they are recommended for a 12" rim, but I was thinking a 10" beadlocked will make an 11" give or take

Really trying to keep tread ballooning to a minimum

But yeah if they are too ridiculous then I will take a 12.5 fitment

They do seem rather interesting though and the figures will win me quite a few top trumps matches :p

Ooo awesome plan. I've been scanning ebay and the like for 3 door commercial models with the idea of a body swap so I can have a bobtail and cut more of the arch out as I'm on the limit with my 5 door and I fear the 35x10.5 Simex's I have may rub a lot.

But I didn't think about the idea of fitting 3 door panels. Where on earth would you start with that??

This is all a bit of a pipe dream currently as I really need to get a working gearbox in
But with one of my rear arches starting to go it would make for an interesting idea
