Blah what's LED rob, I like old school big, hot and inefficient.

Which segues quite nicely into the consumption of POWER and FUEL comments regards the v8 :D

In the words of jimmy clarkson 'pooowweerrrrr!'

I'll have to get a nice big led bar and show you how much brighter they are :)

I know mate and you're not wrong, Mark L has got a nice rig of Rigid Industries led spots and they're excellent, BUT I just prefer halogen.

Tbh as good as led is it is very very directional light and that bothers me to an extent, the warmth of halogen gives better contrast too.

Not going to say leds are bad because that would be a clear untruth, but my heart is set on halogen, the lights are more striking visually also with the size etc it's a big style consideration for me.

I've got an led worklamp if that helps :p

Tried my 4 18w LED roof lights last night and they lit up both treelines of the road (single track) and a good 50m ahead, pretty much perfect for laning :)

Love the look of yours though Sam :D i am still toying with the idea of a bonnet pod :D

Yeah but the problem is because the reflectors are so small they have almost immediate shadow behind any object, whereas halogens have a big bowl so the light tends to bend around trees etc.

Marks work lamps are diffused which makes them a LOT wider and more encapsulating beam but still the problem prevailed to an extent.

Bonnet pod is a good solution and is something I had considered for ages but there was just 'something' that didn't look right about it so I left it.

Plus my bonnet is removeable so I didn't need the extra complication, and with these lights fitted up front I don't lose any break over visibility.

i was thinking more of me usually throwing the bonnet around and/or using it as a table/workbench/surfboard :D

Totally agree with u noisy. Love the big old school lamp look. LEDs are good and look good on a disco 2 maybe but for an ald disco 1 it's gota be big dirty halogen lamps!!!

New tyres were good :)

Dude can I pick your brains re. Steering?

Where did you get your steering bars and rtc damper from? Need to do some upgrades

And no broken drive train by the look of it, well done :)

Yeah mate I was bricking it as ever but it confirms my thoughts that halfshafts are safe on 33s cos red mist did descend at a couple of points.

Still ****ting it about swivel balls all day though.

Have just made a long tyre post in your tyre thread :)

Steering bars are terrafirma HD with greaser joints, eBay £100

On my second set after I bent the first set when the bloody swivel ball broke of and the wheel went elsewhere!

Steering damper was eBay again, terrafirma obviously

Brackets are gwyn Lewis, mix and match kit on his eBay shop, disco chassis bracket, defender drag link bracket

Job done :)

Ta dear, noticed a bent steering arm at the weekend so need to sort that.

Got a gwen Lewis damper relocation kit a couple of years back so hopefully that'll fit

Yeah but rtc damper is defender fitment so is ring and bolt type at the steering arm end whereas disco fitment is pin and bush

So if you have a disco damper currently relocated it won't fit :(

Just been confirmed on the Megasquirt stand at Donny show 2014

WOOO I do love me a show, who's going next year? :)

Congrats mate, should attract a lot of attention at a car show.

Carrying on from my wheel thread did you say your running 3" lift springs?
Think my suspension is sagging a bit so looking to upgrade to maybe +5 Terrafirma shocks but not sure on the springs
