maybe a silly Q - but why the steering damper on the front and not the other side of the diff, as standard - is it just the size?

more money than sense

Well to be honest, it's taken a year to sort this out, and the latter part I've had to make out of nothing selling stuff on ebay!

However the principle of piling so much cash into an old disco seems pretty senseless to many, but in my opinion good **** costs money and it's still cost me less than a new mondeo :p

The stock damper position lets it get smashed to ****!

It works better on the track rod which is why discos and rangeys have it there

It is more protected on the drag link which is why defenders have it there

And that's why disco/RRC guys move it up front :)

Drove the car today, it's reyt!

Booked an mot for tomorrow, so a couple of tasks to do...

Fit alternator, monster 175amp I bought in April, had to make a few adjustments to fit it and still need a longer belt, but it's there! :D

Gonna hope to get a belt tomorrow else it's gonna need a full charge before mot :p

Also gonna put the less loud exhaust on it, it's quality but there's no way it'll pass!!

Luckily Gates belts have a very simple numbering system, mines a 6207MC so I'll just get an 08, 09, 10 etc and return the ones I don't use to the supplier.

Cheers :)
