Ashcroft Air Locker
Ashcroft Heavy Duty Crownwheel&Pinion 4.12:1
Megasquirt-V8 Pegged Casing
Heavy Duty Fasteners & Wolf Seal

Noice

Also got a 1.2 transfer case ready to strip down, will get some pics of that later, suffix F unit so it's quite fresh.

Just need another diff now :(

Nice I still want a locker but it's sooooooo much money!!! :-( tempted with a second hand Detroit as a halfway house

Very nice, build it up yourself or get someone else to do it?

All mine had spent on it this week was a tenner for some shampoo....

I do enjoy a modded D2!

Detroits are excellent for halfway house but when you drive off road with a locker you soon work out how often being locked can be detrimental

A locked diff half the time aims to find traction at a wheel that otherwise wouldn't be given drive, but an open diff seeks to give drive to all wheels whilst allowing for rotational differences

Ie, a locked diff will encourage wheels to break traction at the same time as guaranteeing any wheel with traction some useful drive

Being locked on a side slope can be a VERY bad idea

As such, detroits aren't ideal

But in fairness, most of the time you'll get more use out of being locked than unlocked.

To put it in perspective, what you're looking at above is the best part of 1400 quid.

Gulp.

That was built by Nige at Megasquirt and his main man Steve.

I built my ARBs into casings a few years ago but they didn't owe me as much, plus they weren't pegged.

As such, get a pro to do it and get it right :)

Afraid so pal. Gonna be a long time before I'm back out offroading again :(

You can see 4k in landy axles easy.

Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gulp x 4000 !!!. Thinking a second hand Detroit might be nice for the back then save for a front Ashcroft and a later a rear then sell the Detroit in a few years on what u reacon worth it
